The Delusional Hunter in Another
36 - a good 3 *
A law abiding citizen Alien driving a ridiculously low grade hunter causes hunter society to misunderstand him as a super powered being
So the story navigates between his pitiful day to day struggles and the moment he gets involved in huge troubles, and how he’ll survive them
It’s a rather absurd story drviven by misunderstandings, double interpretation ( his guess, their guess). He also could have an easy life with a well paid job,, but he is inba middle of a burn out crisis and just wants to retire
So far it’s fun, but you would expect some development at some point, if not, it might ruin dry easily
The Art Student Who Lived Twice
8 Well another story which could do without the back in time tiresome trope (luckily it’s on the light side)
Other than that it’s interesting for anyone interested in art. There are not so many pieces giving insight into the creative process, techniques, and throughout the challenges of the students, gives multiple inside about a variety of possible answers to a same question
At a time where you hear art is going to die because of AI, it’s a refreshing way to remember how creativity is born from any encounter, any accident or mistakes…, sparkling inspiration coming from anything, from personal history, to stunning pieces of art, etc. So many factors nourishing the soul and art that leave a bit of hope for humans vs machines
Every bit of new creation brought by the students was not just reproductible technique, but the product of each individual path, struggle and answer to a subject. The process itself is valuable

MookHyang - Dark Lady Webtoon
48 murum meet med fan + meca + gender blender
You’ seen everything, but the mix is original
Great pace, lots of interesting characters, enough depth to make a potentially good plot
The MC has a good set of values, never abuses his strength, you have ample time to discover him bedore he turns lady dark
The Script-Eating Actor
18
Raw and low key cynical version of actor rookie raising up to stardom
There are two main flaws in this story
The first one is the ultimate cheat - instead of his hard work paying, MC got an unfair one way cheat allowing him to memorize and get immersed anything, plus knowing what is good or not
To sum it up, he doesn’t need to put anymore effort in either acting or script analysis, everything is chewed by the system
That’s already bad enough, but it also seems he is not willing to work anymore than that : when he sees average rating on script, he throws them aside, instead of wondering why and growing a new ability by himself.
What’s left for him is politics
Then again, it’s not too pretty and we reach what I subjectively consider the second flaw: the MC describes his drive, not with his love for acting, his fascination for the art, but the desire to be seen and noticed. (Extrinsic prevails over intrinsic which is already not that great
Then his is described as relatively petty, he’s a fake who manages his emotions to look nice, and hides what he’s truly thinking. He also low key provokes his former study colleague who has an inflated ego. Instead of putting in two words to bring him back to earth, he provokes him further, even when the results are going to hurt everyone in the production team.
There are many places in which he feels like a hypocrite : it’s okay not to be a pushover, but it doesn’t grant the right to be mean (like rejecting a demand or playing white lotus with his new colleagues). It looks like he would fast get as big headed as his ex friends if not for seing how it’s going to hurt them on the short term. He doesn’t feel much better than them
He feels as if he adjusts his own line to build up a persona that will be appreciated. In other words, so far he is shown as someone who makes relationships in matters of transactions, not cooperation. That may look smart on the outside (science would probably say otherwise) but it lives a crappy feeling
I don’t know how an average 20 year old raised in an average household would build such a manipulative and cynical personality but it doesn’t feel good
The latest chapters feel a tab bit better as he is involved with one person he truly respects (his hyung) and feels a bit more humane
I don’t know if it’s today’s gritty and cynical trends or if it the writer preference, but it’s hard to appreciate such a MC
Although I am a Mother-in-law, I do not like Conflict between My in-laws
19
There’s only one flaw : why does the MC has that evil disease ? How come shr think of the people as novels protagonists, when she has no reason to believe she lives in a novel ??
Did that bad disease spread so wildly that now even « non reader MC » can have it ?!?
It’s sad as none of it make sense, and she would be much more wonderful without any of that crap ?
In the same manner, is there any need to be reborn from our time ?
Is there any point to it ?
Or is it for business purposes (another thing we could obviously do without, even more when she makes investments without a penny to her name)
It’s interesting as far as moral values goes, but it’s burdensome otherwise. How would a previous life have more influence in your thought process than your current life ? It’s plain nonsensical
On top of that, she could also have the same moral virtues from her own life experiences. She had to take responsibility very young, she might be sensitive to the conditions of the poorest, and genuinely care for kids.
Outside of these painful background tropes, i truly enjoyed the very poised and down to earth principled lady.
The variation on the equation of the step mother is refreshing (she has no children to care for, the son is older than her, married with kids !)
It has potential if it stray away from the reincarnator garbage ?
A Villain’s Will to Survive
28 - from the same premises as many very poor shojo, a pretty amazing story
The MC is a game designer having become a petty villain he was working on
I have a hard time understanding the self deprecating talk of his time as a designer, or the lazy sticker he got for himself when we obviously see him working overtime so much, but maybe it’s something more akin to being superficial without real involvement
Anyway from there goes his saying something like « fate is for the lazy ones, i can only trust in myself and the effort I put in »
Knowing the villain is pretty much set to die in every possible scenarii, he uses all he has to survive
Among other things, he is doing a lot to make things right and correct the evil and the mistakes of his character to avoid death flags, but also because he truly has a righteous mind and kept the values of a modern man
The pace is truly incredible, the chapters feel full and satisfying
The many side characters make sense, and seem like they all have enough background to be fleshed out
Despite being another world with magic, technology and devils, it feels interesting and a bit deeper than the very common stories in which only battle exist
What a nice find let’s hope the manga will clean the bad stuff i read from the spoilers comments (for once you could wonder how such a young man could have committed so many evil in the time he had, second harem and tragedy are no good in my book :/ )
Levelling Up In An Exclusive Dungeon
26
2x first chapters are junk , too fast to become absolutely OP
To fast to be OK with killing hum
The new job (inquisitor, yuk) seems to open to more action and maybe a plot ?
The MC is absolutely careless and only seems to think about money
The Player Hides His Past
53 brillant
The idea of the split hero allows for the MC to be both the archetype of the dark hero with a revenge and your average cowardly modern guy , full of ordinary flaws ( like greed) The balance between the two is good enough so that the flaws of both archetypes don’t feel too burdensome
The characters powers are on the same vein : the super duper OP perfction of the dark hero allows meet the very pathetic amount of mane of a regular guy with little experience
Add to that a variety of secondary characters with strong personalities, quests that mostly bring the best out of players, cooperation spirit that surpass even greed and you have a witty, fun, faster paced story full of heart and spunk
Definitely a bad choice for sleeping, but most certainly a very entertaining ride
Add to that
I Became the Mother of a Sub-Male Son
