I think everyone wants to be loved unconditionally. And seeing people be jealous over you, when not taken to extreme levels, can be cute and endearing and an indication of them caring about you. In fiction, things are just naturally amped up to its most dramatic conclusion which is how we get yanderes IMO.
So so good, taking some of my most favorite and personal topics (magical girls and mental health) and combining it make a funny, charming, yet sensitive and enlightened manga, Just brilliant.
