Yeah he did, it’s in a side story about baby Ian. She also gets dreams about what his past life was like. He actually really loved her, but to protect her he had to act as though he didn’t favor her so that the Grand Duke wouldn’t gain favor from the nobles. He said having the baby was a “mistake” because that meant that the baby could become a potential successor. After the baby was born the Grand Duke gained a lot of support and his efforts of trying to protect her were gone. The grand Duke then killed her because he didn’t need her anymore, and then the crown prince killed the real Veronica as revenge... But then the Grand Duke killed HIM.
