One reason I really like the angst in Bj Alex is because it has a meaning to the story, let me explain (I will take Jinx since it’s similar and from the same author), from the start to the missile of the story we see the narration from DG mainly and snippets from Jiwon, that makes us feel exactly like DG not knowing Jiwon true intentions and feelings and it works wonders in that sense, Jiwon seems like a privileged asshole that has a ego complex and believes to be superior to anyone, and it’s totally what I thought of him the first time I read the story. But once you reach the final arc we truly see why Jiwon is the way that he is, we kinda resent him like DG, but at least there’s a meaning to his complex character: never loved by his parents and so searched validation by others and faked his persona in order to do so and afraid of meaningful relationships bc his Hyung betrayed him. I love particularly the last chapters bc you can really see Jiwon evolving as a character trying to understand more himself and open up, and the ending is the perfect coronation of this development. Jinx on the other side is incomplete so this may be a reach since we don’t know the full story, but it just doesn’t give me the same vibes, Jiwon in the beginning was not nice but on the others side he never went as far as to do all the shit that happened in Jinx.
Thanks for reading my rant, I wrote it bc I came back to Bj Alex for the first time in a while and really enjoyed it again, 10/10.
