I can see why Na Haesoo stayed with Kang Mincheol all these miserable years. Not only was she hoping for that happy bright future they were planning for, but she probably also felt guilty, thinking that because Kang Mincheol chose her, they ended up living in poverty (though idiot Kang Mincheol was the one who borrowed money from suspicious people).
I'm still gonna say it. This is still ongoing? And didn't the author basically convert the entire premise of Lookism into the same manhwa he had before?
Like, the author's old manhwa was also about gangs and fighting, but it was so long and unpopular. So, he started a new manhwa with a more alluring concept: Lookism, school bullying, and body switching. A main character with a handsome face.
This manhwa got really popular, but since Lookism was getting a lot more attention than his old works, author used the opportunity to switch up the story of Lookism to tell the same stories he wanted from his old manhwa that was unpopular. Which was basically gang wars and street fights. So, no more of the original plot about the body switching or discrimination of looks. Maybe somewhere on the side, but that's basically gone now.
I don't mind school gang wars manhwas, but what Lookism turned into is just random fighting now.
A better example would be Weak Hero. I've watched the live action of Weak Hero and I LOVE it. Watched the 2 seasons on Netflix. Gang wars and all. But that show has real plot and characters, and the fights are enjoyable and are essential to the plot.
Weak Hero is what Lookism should've strived to be imo. It has all that school and shounen elements that make fight/drama/friendships + powerful enemies and characters all come together into something really entertaining.
Anyway no hate-hate on Lookism, just commenting because I used to read this back in high-school, and was really looking forward to the old plot, but I never really got the answers I wanted from the story, since the original plot was basically abandoned for the gang wars thing the author likes so much...

Since they broke up, probably only a few months have passed, at most a year. The 3 years were mentioned because that made the audience realize that it’s been more than 3 years since Mincheol last knew where Haesoo was working (in other words, he stopped asking). If you look at the previous chapters, from the very beginning, everyone knows that Haesoo currently works in 3 places: the BBQ restaurant, the flower shop, and the motel (which she recently quit to spend more time with Taeha). But she had already mentioned that she had other jobs, and apparently the last time Mincheol knew where she worked was at the place he just visited. This shows that it’s been over 3 years since he stopped asking Haesoo where she was working or how things were going (he stopped caring about her), because we all know that right now he doesn’t even know that Haesoo has been working part-time in 3 places.
Hate him. But tbh my hate for Kang Mincheol is the only thing keeping me here. Low-key there's nothing progressing between FL and ML.
In my opinion, I think the reason why it feels like there's no progress at all is because Taeha wants Haesoo to be the first to tell him everything and trust him first. Even though sometimes Taeha can't stand Haesoo's nature of not wanting to burden people and always overthinking, he remains patient until Haesoo asks for it herself. That's why in which episode when Haesoo asked Taeha to stay over, Taeha completely canceled all his plans that night and without thinking, chose Haesoo. That's what I think.
