Just read the author's note for season 1. Kind of spoilers I guess, but not really much spoilers to the story (except for some of my inputs).
.
.
.
.
Ahahha I'm a bit surprised, I think the author is a man since their cartoon persona which is a slab of meat has a beard.
---------------------------------------------
Anyways, so they said Season 1 was really long but Season 2 and 3 will be made shorter if they can help it.
---------------------------------------------
The names Jingi and Myeonggi was spontaneously made from playing a Sims game at a friend's house.
And Heonjae's name is a wordplay with the meaning of "today" to be the opposite of Myeong-il's name meaning "tomorrow" (obvi in the Korean language of course).
---------------------------------------------
Myeong-il started smoking since middle school. Myeong-il insists he can still date women.
---------------------------------------------
Confirmed Jingi and Heonjae biologically came from the same mother and father (so it's confirmed that they're not half-brothers or anything.)
---------------------------------------------
Question:
"Doesn't Jingi care that there's a 10-year age gap between him and Myeong-il? Doesn't that make Jingi a cradle-snatcher?"
----------------------
Answer:
"Just to the extent Jingi thinks 'He's just a kid/brat'...? That's about it!
I guess that's the reason why he's in prison."
(bruh, author, that is one dark joke considering the finale reveal.)
(Unless... that's actually a low-key fact? I mean, could Jingi have been framed and imprisoned for those crimes related to the children? Which were actually crimes by the Uncle? So that actually IS the reason Jingi is in prison? Even your jokes have some clues in them, author).
(Also, low-key had this question in mind too with the 10-year age gap, cuz of the recent reveal of the issue we're addressing with adults and young children, but I thought, "Nah, Myeong-il is nearly 30. Myeong-il can and should be responsible for all his choices now as an adult. Doesn't matter how much younger he is than Jingi at this point".
So, Jingi acknowledges how much younger Myeong-il is, but Myeong-il can definitely no longer be considered a child at all in his age XDD But maybe with his elementary-level spelling he can be considered a child, lol.
Plus, Myeong-il doesn't even treat Jingi any older than himself and doesn't give him the respect that elders are usually given in Korea, so Myeong-il calls Heonjae "hyung" but not to Jingi.)
---------------------------------------------
Driving styles of all three:
----------------------
Heonjae: So scared that he doesn't drive or just drives really slow.
Myeong-il: Rough driving and doesn't have a driver's license.
Jingi: Drives so smoothly that it prevents carsickness.
----------------------
(Basically my interpretation of what those driving styles mean for them:
----------------------
Heonjae: Anxious, scared, and overly sensitive.
Myeong-il: Reckless, rule-breaking, and adaptive.
Jingi: Controlled, composed, reliable and mature.)
---------------------------------------------
A Japanese fan asks :
----------------------
"What is the red soup that was in *Myeonggi's* [not sure if I'm translating this right, but the big bear man's] high school lunch? Was it red broth?"
(The Japanese fan probably mistranslated the name Heonjae and mixed it up with the name Myeonggi since they can both mean "bright day/future" and "current day" (again idk how in those languages)).
Anyway, the author's answer was kimchi mixed into water and rice. It's a quick, cheap meal when there's nothing to eat at home. (bruhh that makes Heonjae sound so dirt-poor if he only eats stuff like that, and he's such a large fellow too, but just eats cheap rice and water meals).

Season Finale!! Are you guys ready for this?

Jingi (J): "Why are you here?"
Jingi finds Myeong-il in the medical office.
Myeong-il (M): "W-what happened?"
M (thoughts): "He's covered in blood..."
Clinic Doctor: "A riot in the medical tent?"
Prison Guard: "Everyone else was sent to outpatient, but only 5484 was brought here... Why weren’t you there, doctor?"
Clinic Doctor: "Uh, t-they said the supplies and equipment weren’t ready yet, so I was waiting."
M (thoughts): "A riot? If I had gone to the medical tent, it could’ve been really bad..."
Jingi notices the injury on Myeong-il's leg, and masks his concern for him with annoyance.
J: "What, you went and tripped over yourself somewhere again?"
Jingi mocks him. Then, Jingi goes back to getting his own wounds closed.
Jingi to Clinic Doctor: "Why aren’t you moving! Stop the bleeding and stitch me up, now!"
Barking orders, urgently and angrily.
Clinic Doctor: "Y-you need anesthesia."
J: "Just do it!!!"
Demanding the doctor stitch him up without painkillers.
M: "How'd you end up there anyway? You said you weren’t coming out today."
J: "Deokjae or one of those bastards set it all up, and I walked right into it."
Jingi is pissed—he realizes he was baited, and it worked.
M: "...Deokjae-hyungnim? that doesn't make sense."
J: "If you hadn’t asked me to come to sports day yesterday, I wouldn’t have fallen for it."
M: "Huh?"
J: "I went in thinking I’d be getting some, but now look what happened..."
He blames Myeong-il indirectly, since he fell for the trick because of Myeong-il's invitation to him yesterday, so Jingi ended up believing they'd get to have sex in the tent, even though Myeong-il has no clue what he's talking about.
Clinic Doctor to Jingi: "I'm giving you the meds now, so keep taking them even back in your room."
J: "Yeah, yeah."
Clinic Doctor to Jingi: "Is it bearable?"
J: "Don’t know... fuck…"
M: "Ugh... That looks like it hurts. Don’t face here."
Myeong-il reacts viscerally to the wound on Jingi's head.
Heonjae notices Myeong-il is only giving his attention to Jingi right now.
Clinic Doctor to Jingi: "You know the usual right? Take the meds 30 minutes after eating."
Heonjae (H): "Hyung… Does it hurt a lot? I-I didn’t know something like that had happened…"
Heonjae acts like his usual innocent self.
J: "It’s fine, this is nothing—you know me, I’ll be back on my feet in no time."
Jingi reassures his little brother, acting tough as always. Jingi still trusts Heonjae completely.
J: "This time, we were both too slow to catch on."
Jingi believes Heonjae was just as unaware as he was.
H: "Yeah... you’re okay... I'm glad"
On the surface, Heonjae sounds relieved. But as Heonjae grips his fingers, it hints his disappointment that Jingi didn’t die.
(Uhuhuhu, Jingi, the devoted older brother, still blindly sees this as a situation where the two of them as brothers were facing it together as a team But in truth, Heonjae was no longer on Jingi's side...)
---------------------------------------------
[Back in their room - Evening]
M: "What a damn whirlwind of a day…"
M (thoughts): "The awards ceremony fell apart, sigh— I got injured, and I feel like a dumbass."
M (thoughts): "This guy got beaten half to death."
J: "Lie down and sleep early."
Jingi covered in bandaged wounds, injured lying down telling them to just go to bed already.
M (thoughts): "And the other one...
He's just been sitting there quietly since earlier."
Heonjae is sitting on the floor, fiddling with the Bear and Weasel figurines together (there's a *clink* sfx here, so I assume he's making those two figurines that's facing each other kiss or something).
Heonjae notices Myeong-il looking, so he avoids eye contact and awkwardly turns away.
M (thoughts): "Huh?"
"Don’t tell me he’s regretting his confession already... will it start getting awkward again…?"
M: "Welp, guess I’ll lie down~"
M (thoughts): "All that big talk earlier"
"And now he’s sleeping farther away from me than usual."
"Hyung sure lets his feelings get ahead of himself."
Myeong-il mocks him but is clearly still thinking about that confession from earlier.
H: "Myeong-il."
M: "Yeah?!"
Surprised and a little flustered.
H: "Good night."
M: "Yeah… you too, hyung…"
M (thoughts): "He says he likes me… That he’s scared he won’t get to see me again…"
"That he’ll make me fall for him too…
...but is waiting really all he plans to do?"
[Myeong-il opens his mouth, like he's about to speak... but the scene cuts.]
(During this entire scene, you can see out the window, the sky is dark and grey, it seems as if a storm is brewing in the distance as Myeong-il looks out and says it feels like a whirlwind of a day, it's silent with just the three of them getting ready for bed.
The atmosphere is set up as a clear metaphor for the quiet-before-the-storm.)
---------------------------------------------
[Morning in the room]
Prison Guard: "7316, the work crew lead’s asking for you."
H: "okay..."
Prison Guard: "5484, you've been lying down since roll call."
J: "Cut me some slack— can't you see I’m a patient."
Myeong-il to Heonjae: "See you, then."
Myeong-il sees Heonjae off to labor duty. Heonjae waves back to him as he leaves.
J: "Tch… painkillers are wearing off."
(Yeah, but was it really the pain meds wearing off that stung Jingi after witnessing that interaction between Myeong-il and Heonjae at that moment hmmm? /jkjk it was nothing)
M (thoughts): "Honestly, I thought he was just exaggerating at first..."
"But the other inmates really are out for Jingi. (Even going so far as to use me just to get to him...)"
"Now that I think about it— Someone tried to kill him the first time we met."
"Did he... do something to deserve all this?..."
"Inside the letters... there were photos."
"Kids… around Myeonghoon or Myeongyoo’s age, all with the same haircut, dyed on only one side... and they were...
surrounded by huge men…
...
...
...
."
Myeong-il falls into a horrified silence even in his thoughts.
"I want to ask him… but I can’t get the words out.
Is it because… there’s some part of him I still want to believe in?"
(Myeong-il is piecing together something horrific— and it's deeply tied to Jingi. He's terrified of the truth, but a bit of him still wants to trust Jingi.)
(The small pieces of description of the photo is honestly vomit-inducing, because it leaves just enough room for your imagination to do the worst it can to imagine what it was that Myeong-il saw. Even if we, the audience, will never actually see the photos ourselves…)
(The kids in the photos were described to be young— this immediately leads Myeong-il to think of the people he cares about when he sees them.)
(That's why the photos affected him so much, as he could even compare the ages of the children in the photos to his own siblings who he even name-drops in his mind.)
(The children's appearances in the photos—have the same haircut, one-side of the hair dyed —it implies some sort of systematic grooming or control.)
(It’s not a fashion or coincidence. It’s branding. There's something happening here, something bigger than we know is being run.)
((They foreshadow this in the background of some of the chapters. I saw another commentor last week notice some of the kids having the same hair Myeong-il has on their heads in the past chapters. Those kids in the background aren't necessarily involved here, but the children having those hair dyes is a foreshadowing to this particular discovery)).
“surrounded by huge men…”
(This line is where I vomited from anger, disgust, and sadness. That's why this is the season finale, because we need a lot of time to process this. So, the hiatus will be helpful in some way.)
(The description doesn’t need to be explicit. The implication is more than enough...)
Okay back to the spoilers sorry--
---------------------------------------------
M (thoughts): "Shouldn’t I be done with being let down by now?"
M: “If you’re going for external medical care, don’t stay in the room just to whine, it's getting on my nerves.”
J: "When did I make a sound? If you think about it, this is your fault, you bastard."
"Things were quiet for a while, and now they’re calling me out using you as bait..."
M: "Don’t blame me for it."
J: "If he (Deokjae) ends up surviving this, don’t ever let him back. Don’t trust people. Not in here, not outside."
"Instead of chatting with those gambling bastards, do your work—"
M: "Shut up. Work or don’t… I’ll do whatever the fuck I want. I won’t be fooled anymore."
"Stop pretending to be a good person."
J: "Huh?"
M: "Yeah, I saw the letters."
Jingi’s eyes widen in surprise.
M: "A little boy with the same hair as me...
You piece of trash… disgusting.
How could you do that to those kids..."
J: "Huh? Kids?"
"Wait… don’t tell me…"
.....
.....
Silence… neither of them speak for a while... until—
J: "Haaa..."
Jingi lets out loud sigh, but one that didn't sound angry nor sad.
J: "That kid…
...was me."
M: "What?"
Jingi reveals he was one of the victims in the photos.
Myeong-il is stunned. This wasn't the answer he was expecting. And Jingi doesn’t fight back or avoid it.
J: "Ha... seriously. This brat's making things tiresome for no reason."
Jingi was lightly complaining.
J: "You really thought I did that to those kids?"
"That’s why you avoided me?"
His tone is in half-disbelief, half-understanding. He knows how Myeong-il came to that conclusion. He’s not lashing out either, just insulting Myeong-il that he's dumb, which he usually does.
M: "Hey, you—who would believe that...?!”
Jingi’s constant secretiveness has fed Myeong-il's assumptions all this time.
Now, Myeong-il is confused, embarrassed, mixed with some guilt if what Jingi's saying is true.
J: "There was a mole, right?"
"Come here. I’ll just show you my face."
Jingi offers proof. Neither mad nor defensive.
M: "…No, I don’t want to look."
Flustered and rejecting.
J: "So, do you believe me?"
Jingi asks casually.
M: "Fuck... You should’ve just told me from the start."
"So, why do you... have those photos?"
He still doesn’t understand Jingi’s motives—and he’s scared of what the answer might be.
J: "See, this is why I didn’t want to say anything. You look at me like I’m pitiful—how do you think that feels?! Sit down.”
Jingi hates being seen as weak or pitiful.
M: "Tell me why you keep them… at this point just let me know.”
J: "It’s not for revenge or anything like that.
That phase is long gone."
Jingi isn’t fixated on revenge. He’s moved beyond it— he’s focused on stopping the perpetrator now.
J: "The bastard who took those photos
shouldn’t be out in the world. He’s the kind of person who would torture others to death."
The hatred Jingi feels isn’t emotional—it’s objective. He knows that monster is still out there.
J: "Because of that bastard… because of that family… he probably kept sending those people here just to film a video of me getting beheaded."
"He wanted to film my execution for fun. That’s his hobby.”
The monster who tortured Jingi isn't just abusive, he’s sadistic. Has extreme levels of control and perversion.
J: "Everything’s already fucked.
But that— I won’t let him have it.
When I get out of here, I have to end it.”
Jingi is determined. He has nothing left to lose, but he won't let that monster get what he wants. He’s planning to end the cycle.
J: "That’s why I’ve kept them. Satisfied now?"
Jingi finally explaining to Myeong-il. And the reason he keeps these isn't for anything twisted— it's to hold onto proof.
So, Myeong-il asks,
M: "...Who is that person? Who would do this much to you— to this extent?"
---------------------------------------------
[Scene cuts to VISITATION ROOM]
?: "Do you know how surprised I was when you called first~?"
"How long has it been since I last saw you in person? Six years? I can’t even remember~"
H: "yes…"
Heonjae is confronted by an unknown visitor who is off-screen.
?: “We’ve got history, but you only called a few times. I thought you were mad at me~ Have you finally sorted your feelings out?”
H: "Uncle,"
Heonjae speaks to his visitor that is revealed to be the Uncle.
H: "...that thing we talked about before…
if that's still on the table..."
"Then... I’ll be the one to handle hyung."
SEASON 1 END FINALE

God thank you so much. I always look forward to reading your updates. Ok so, when Heonjae overheard the guys trying to set up Jingi and didn't do anything to stop them or warn Jingi I was super disappointed because I thought Heonjae was one of the few people that Jingi could trust. I get that Heonjae has feelings for Myeonggi and is a bit jealous of Jingi because he sees how Jingi and Myeonggi react to each other, but damn. How could you betray one of the few blood relatives that actually cares about you and side with the man that abused Jingi. I get that he probably doesn't know that his uncle abused Jingi because Jingi doesn't tell Heonjae anything but wanting to kill your brother over bussy is crazy lol. I did see some people comment that from Heonjae's perspective he feels abandoned and betrayed by Jingi because Jingi wasn't there for him when he was being used by his teacher and when Heonjae didn't have anyone in this life that cared he really wanted his older brother to be there for him. He also feels betrayed because Jingi promised to help him flirt with Myeonggi and he can tell that Jingi has feelings for Myeonggi. Damn, the hiatus Is the perfect time for me to reread this so that I can get all my facts and theories together.

IT WAS IN CHP 63-64 IT WAS CRAZY.... heonjae overheard people talked about attacking jingi during the track and field event. But he decided to ignore it. Later on, myeongil fell and hurt himself at the same time as heonjae also saw jingi walked passed by. But he decided to did no shit smd chose to help myeongil instead. They also almost got into the tent that was supposed to he where the others beat jingi up but heonjae made some excuse instead

holy fuck this story is so insane ive never been into a manhwa lore for so long. I'm actually so excited to what the author will do with this series ^_^
The metaphor is very amazing! I never would've thought of that. Its also pretty surreal to me however despite everything that had happend to myeong il, he still chose to try and trust jingi. People don't give credit for how kind he actually is Now im wondering what could be the real reason he's behind those bars. His character manages to intrigued me even more now.
I wonder how he'll feel when his own brother is gonna betray him soon, it actually makes me feel sick. Hopefully myeong il also does not get hurt much in the process

Myeonggi is a lot things. He's kind, naive, and stupid. His overly trusting nature is the reason why he's in jail in the first place. That just made me think. Since Jingi and Myeonggi trusts Heonjae so much Heonjae is going to use that to his full advantage amd might create a scenario where Myeonggi accidentally does something that severely hurts Jingi. Myeonggi will probably have to acknowledge the feelings he has towards them and fully choose if he's going to stick with Heonjae or Jingi. We kind of know that he's favoring Jingi more but his decision will have to be more blatant.

Spoiler! Season 1 Finale!
...Fuck no omg, it actually is...
.
.
.
.
.
Guys... the photos in the letters were really... pictures of a kid... and they were disgusting photos...
and the kid in the photo had the same yellow highlight on his hair they gave Myeong-il...
but that kid... turns out to be Jingi as a child.
And we all know who took that photo....
(Will come back to edit this later, I haven't translated the whole chapter yet. But... God... our worst theories...)

I knew to never trust Heonjae!!! He's in full yandere mode now and wants Myeongil all to himself even if it means hurting Jingi
Also I'm glad we finally got answers for the photos but I'm bummed it's in the season finale so we gotta wait god knows how long for S2 to have them iron out all the miscommunication

I think the translations for Sasha's gender will never be fixed XDD Sasha is a son, not a daughter. He's always wearing a gown because all babies and children wear that before.
And people are usually confused why he has black hair and not white like the ML's, that's because ML's hair was originally black when he was a kid, but when he achieved the highest level of being a sorcerer the hair turns white.
Bruh, some comments saying it's FL who lacks communication??? She already expressed all her concerns to him before tho??? About not wanting to be a noble but he didn't listen, she already told him the child is her nephew, she told him she doesn't want to be a mistress.
What else can she say to crazy man here?
Bring up the time he strangled her that's why she slapped his hand away? Yeah, that's a good strategy, say it to the guy who basically said "I can ruin your life".
Some people just like to echo and repeat the comment "they just need to communicate" in every manhwa like bots, as if talk-no-jutsu can actually solve everything. Well, she's BEEN talking, and no listening on ML's end.
Tell me, do you think with ML's current state of mind, asking him not to marry for his status would actually stop him? Or would he just reason out why this situation is better for them and that it would benefit their future?
