This might get quite long, but, bear with me!
So, they're BOTH terrible with communication.
We can understand Maxi, we've seen how much she's grown, and I commend her for going against Riftan and showing that she really wants to go. That's amazing for her!
Also, let's be honest: Yes, Maxi has grown a lot, but she IS a fragile girl. She's just started on magic, and she's doing something crazy. But they're desperate, Maxi showing that she can sacrifice herself to help is extremely precious, as it shows her charisma and strong will.
I also understand Riftan, he's already super stressed about having to lead the army through such a dangerous mission, which he knew wasn't gonna be easy. Now, he's even more stressed, because he loves Maxi so damn much.
I'd like to add that, even though Riftan is being rude, in his mind, Maxi was just a petite girl that was treated like a princess, he doesn't know about her past, so we can't blame him for treating her like a princess.
Let me me finish by saying: They're both too stubborn and too in love. They're probably gonna fight a lot, but, it just shows how much they want to understand each other, and how much they care as well.
Let's not hate on them, let's be understanding and just hope for them to grow together and be a super badass couple.ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
I could cry reading this because it’s so rare to see people actually reading this story and understanding both maxi and riftan. They need to grow as individuals so they can grow as a couple, but even with their lack of communication skills we can see how they are so dear to each other. Both of them want the same thing, to protect and be perfect for the other but still struggle to express it, as they’re not married for so long and riftan is often away, people have to remember that. They still have to learn more about each other to be able to communicate more suitably and I am sure they will, even if it takes time

We can see how hard they're trying as well, even though Maxi is always so shy and couldn't see that much worth in herself, she stated she was going in the mission, even though she knew Riftan would be mad at her. In the earlier chapters, she was afraid of even LOOKING at Riftan, now she stands up to him, that's DEVELOPMENT!!
Also, Riftan is incredibly stubborn, but, we can see how much he actually respects Maxi by letting her go in the expedition. He heard her, and even though he hates the idea, he's supporting her so much. He's always looking after her well-being as well, giving massages and worrying about her in his own way.
They're not perfect, and I love it so much!

So, I've been so tired of reading reincarnations stories. Like, there are so much with similar plots and it just tires me.
But this one... I truly wanna read it till it ends. The story is amazing so far, it's written and drawn in a way that makes us connect with the FL, the despair she feels and all of her feelings... I'm addicted!
If you're an anxious person, let it marinate for a while, but seems like a worthy read!
