ML does legit have a dark traumatic past, but I think that the author expects us to just overlook the fact that he is obsessed with MC and cruel and malicious to his servants? He threatens them for the slightest mistakes and they are genuinely afraid of him. Also, this obsessive love with the MC is I think meant to be framed in a rose coloured light so that it seems like her love is the thing that redeems him. However, is this really the case? He wanted to use her to better himself before he started to be interested in her, then this turned to obsession very quickly. IMO it's not healthy for MC to be the reason for him to live or be a good person really. That's how unequal and abusive relationships start.

Typical fake marriage plotline where ML refuses to admit his feelings. What I find not that believable is that when MC hears that there is a "saint" that appeared out of the lake, she immediately assumes that this persona has also transmigrated, but what does't make sense if that MC just wants to go and meet her?? For what reason?? To be friends?? She must not have read too many novels because a lot of the transmigrated saints nowadays are green tea b*tches. And then she easily, for no reason, agrees to fake marry ML. RO what end? For what purpose? For plot sama of course. But I don't buy it. I skipped like 60 chapters and went straight to the end where it was getting good. I don't think I missed too much to be honest.

MC motivations are shallow and the fact that she transmigrates into the novel serves no plot purpose at all.

The novel was rubbish and this is even worse than that.
