I was hoping for that the uke would have just snapped and took a fork, swinging at it to Director. Seriously. Once in awhile those cute fluffy ukes should have other side of them, there should be a limit when stupid helpless cute act is too much. I want a surprise! And a real moment. Real emotion. ... But no. I'm just asking too much.

Yesssss. Yes to all of this. I was reading that chapter and privately hoping the seme would come in all worried to the uke looking like '8)?' while bending the Directors fingers back. Or to him yelling at him or freaking or something! Cute and fluffy can only go so far before I squint at them and wonder why they just let stuff happen to them with almost no reactions humans would have (especially when we typically have a seme who winds up seeming a more complex a character when put next to said uke). It just it feel like I'm reading unsalted unbuttered popcorn. Fluffy, but not much taste or substance.

"I can't believe it. The first thing you've ever asked for.. was a boy."
Have to admit. I totally laughed out loud on this part. And I'm not usually person to do so.
Overall I'm not too founded of them being a couple. I like the big brother and little sister vibe a lot more.. But who knows what will really happen.

Because something is a bit off with way of talking and language. It feels kind of.. cheap. Mannerisms don't feel right at all. It's like slightly polished fanfic. Just.. Hard to explain.
This isn't a bad manga or anything.. But it's not good ether.

It's Japanese, and translated :^) the most I could say is probably that this artist is amazing but not a professional mangaka, obviously so the flow of panels and story might not be very smooth since its very focused on gags and making fun of otakus?? It would be better as a 4koma maybe...
I get what you feel though! But I'm more than happy with the pretty art.

I wouldn't fault the mangaka necessarily. This is a scanlation, which afaic accounts for the awkwardness of the writing/speaking. For one thing scanlators who don't have native speakers 'on staff' sometimes rely on Google translate which is problematic since some things don't translate well in general (there's really no English equivalent of 'senpai', f'rinstance). Add to that the complication of editing things to fit them into the speech bubbles and yeah stuff sounds unnatural and stilted sometimes. ┗( T﹏T )┛
But suddenly the ending just collapsed.. Like Mangaka forget or couldn't figure out fully where to go with the story and just rapped it up fast. Maybe it didn't get more volumes so mangaka had to just tie up the ending somehow and it fall apart?
There was many thing what I never quite understanded.. So Hawaii mother wasn't real mother and real mother cheated Michiru's dad or something? Who are Michiru's real parents? Like WTF?
Michiru's parents are still Shiou's dad Hawaii mom. Shiou's dad is part lion, part wildcat. It was a 50/50 chance of Shiou and Michiru being lion or wildcat.
No one cheated on anyone. Michiru's mom told him about his dad and even said "he didn't even tell you?"

It really was ridiculous that the dad didn't tell him lol, all that drama for nothing!
