unfortunately this doesn't have the same oomph that the author's other works have. the characterization is shallow and the romance isn't that compelling. even in hate mate or merry go round the romance wasn't really that strong by itself, but the story worked anyway, as the characters were better crafted and the themes and messaging were clear and well conveyed. here it feels like there isn't much to look foward to except for the romance, which i'm not a fan of since jiho still comes off as unlikable and unsympathetic. the art is nice as always, really expressive. i generally have my issues with 3d backgrounds, they never look that great. in hate mate they solved the background problem by just not drawing them unless it was necessary, and i feel like that solution works way better than introducing 3d backgrounds that bog down the quality. also i just noticed how jiho looks a lot more feminine in recent chapters then he did at the start lmao
