when comparing The Saga of Tanya The Evil- anime and manga, I absolutely adored the anime so I went to read the manga but I was thoroughly disappointed with the art. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just that I'm so used to the anime's art style and expected it to be similar since animes usually tend to follow the mangaka's artstyle when portraying in animated form. what really did it for me was the character design- esp general zettour. he is so different in the manga?? since I loved his character design in the anime, it really brought out his personality as opposed to the manga, at least imo lol
They went a little more off manga when they adapted it into an animation they wanted something close to the novel descriptions
