ML was gaslighting MC, not just lying. In the real sense of the word, where he manipulates the world around him to make him deny his own sense of whats happening/real. He definitely regrets it though, MC uses power to forget the ML existed entirely and ML does NOT take it well.
The breakdown/chase arc honestly made me laugh but was also satisfying for what I was looking for!
