shout out and thanks to anyone in the comments who thought that "the pearl might be from the fucking crown prince" cause I ain't smart enough to think of that lol
so it makes sense that the pearl is from the necklace because the way the necklace works is that someone inflicts Psyche with a mortal womb while the pearl is nearby so that the power goes into the pearl. So then the question is:
1: why was the assassin so... weak? we already know that the asshole is VERY meticulous in his plans. so why send someone who seems like they've never done this before?
my guess is that the motherfucker SENT someone weak purposely to achieve 2 things: a) to see if "Psyche" (in quotes because he's sus of her) is actually strong enough to kill/gravely injure someone and b) even though he's dead, pretty much all of the servants are licking the shit's shoes so he can order them to bring back the pearl

and this chapter just sold me. it actually proved TWO major flaws of cliché love stories.
1: toxic ML. I ain't gonna talk about this one, we all get it from this story
but 2: toxic FL and this one I see as common, but not talked about a lot. Helena is given a sad backstory but does it excuse her actions?
Hell no. Who in their might mind would give FORGIVE her just like that from just a backstory?
Nobody. and the author has been telling such an amazing, why would they throw in such an useless part? the author obviously saw that and used it to their advantage. as soon as somebody realizes what their doing is bad but continues on is automatically a crappy, toxic person. no matter how tragic the backstory.
I bet it's the dragon on the cover ヾ(☆▽☆)
