What I have noticed screws people over the most when presenting is thinking that they have to rememer EVERYTHING. Your audience will not know if there is something you forgot to mention, and if it's something they need to know, they will ask you (and answering is easier at that point). Amnesia - I haaaate that trope so, so much. Then there's the other trope (or maybe plot device?) that I see commonly used in medieval romance: where the antagonist (usually female) can act toxic af and never gets called out on it for most of the story.   reply

This question pops up regularly here, and I gotta say that as a gay man, it has never bothered me (and idk how many of the complainers are gay men themselves). Yeah, of course it's not realistic - most stories aren't realistic anyway. I doubt the het stories are even remotely realistic either.
