When I try to look up some strong female lead manga here on mangago I usually come across some uninteresting shoujo which kind of become a pain

For anime, probably Ghost in The Shell. Violet Evergarden is nice but nowhere near the tone of Claymore lol. Kino no Tabi is good too (2003). Maybe Black Lagoon?
Not a manga but a novel. Lady is reincarnated into an otome game but the setting and romance are nowhere near the character. Instead, there's a lot of political power plays, conflict on the foreign borders, military training etc.
