theory: the mask is the dokkaebis mask(man shown on ch 0) since dokkaebi are often depicted to wear a demon mask(correct me if im wrong). also, the sounds or thing the mc heard and feel are signs of the mask not accepting him as the user since ml didnt feel like that or heard any screaming, which may or may not depict that the ml couldve been the dokkaebi on the prologue reincarnated or possessed by it because when we first saw the ml: he was saying something about "ready or not, here i come" or other things that are related to hide and seek and the fact that on the prologue the dokkaebi was also saying that. and when the ml turns mad, his eyes become red and the dokkaebis eyes are red too(possibly hinting that dokkaebi was in mls body??)

i have a theory that the man with red eyes who appeared on ch. 0 might be the dokkaebi that was possessing dohan (because his mom was sure that a dokkaebi was possessing dohan) and the fact that he was mentioned to be a dokkaebi. and when we first saw dohan, he was wearing a mask and saying something that involved hide and seek then saying something that was "the seeker is seeking"(?) and that the dokkaebi on ch. 0 was also talking about hide and seek with his teacher/master and counting up to 100 and at the end of ch. 0 he said that hes gonna start seeking(?)
theres potential that mcs grandfather might be the teacher/master of the dokkaebi considering that they share the same blood and that when dohan said that "the seeker is seeking/i found you"(?) i think it was meant for mcs grandfather because they have the same blood
just a theory though...this manhwas plot is deeper than i thought, ill cook up another theory if theres more clues/lore shown in the story (=・ω・=)
+ and that dohan heard the spirit guides and saw the man who was with mc wore a soldiers uniform stained with blood that even mc couldnt see
