Agreed about Ezra, but I think her little sis and mc will get along well after some time. After all they meet each other after 7 years, for mc time hasn't changed as she never experienced those years. But for her family and her sister, it's been quite long. So it's better to give them time to understand each other.
I think at the beginning Ara was blaming/hating her sister kala.
Their parents seem divorced or at least seperated. They were looking for kala all those years.
She was the Golden child and suddenly her family was broken and she wasnt the Center.
And have you seen those Windows cage? The family could have been strict with her and projecting their fear and guilt on Ara.
