The beginning of their relationship was pretty messed up. It was frustrating. The way the main story ended didn't feel satisfying either because of some unresolved issues, and it seemed like a rush ending. But the author is trying to address those issues, show us how it affects their relationship, and show us how the characters can make things right in the side stories you're reading. It's better to have this flow of the side story than to forever wonder if Chunwoo really loves Ho-in.
