It’s infuriating how people keep saying Shin should just be happy Jake isn’t a thug anymore, as if that erases all the damage Jake caused by lying to him. It’s not about whether Jake’s a thug or a cop Shin’s issue is that he was lied to, manipulated, and put in danger. Jake pretending to be someone else for so long shattered Shin’s trust, and that’s not something you can just brush off because “hey, at least he’s a good guy”
saying shin is so reckless and impulsive like yeahh i assume he has you know those tendencies when his childhood to his adulthood was a struggle and he was on fight or flight mode most of his life do we expect him to be put together after all his endeavors lmao be serious. People are using shin not knowing he’s a cia agent and saying he’s dense as a gotcha moment but Shin not knowing jake is a cia agent is for the PLOT please we have to stop being stupid like the story was leading up to this moment from the beginning why are we freaking out and putting the blame on shin when its not even his fault at all its jakes “planning” and now he’s laying on his bed he made even if he didnt mean to hurt shin or end up like this . most story's alike Shutline follow by accidentally falling in love without even realizing then they go through hardships (jake getting shot) which makes them grow stronger and closer. after they find their supposed lover is hiding something comes a huge reveal the heartbreak of finding out you got ridicule/kept in the dark. The separation arc comes then comes the redemption this happens in every romance story for instance “become infatuated with the other / sexual attraction/, falling in love , rising action/conflict ,climax/falling action, and resolution. I also see people belittling or being passive aggressive towards shin?? Because he isn’t mopping around like that may not even be the case it could just be the author doesn’t need to put it in because season two showed how shin really cares for jake in his own way sometimes we look at things too deeply when it’s not that serious or not needed just enjoy how the story unravels between two men fighting for each other when all ends are against them. unclench its okay!! Like i love being a lil dramatic but when you’re just twisting the story to your own narrative ” sigh”
I don’t blame Shin for how he’s feeling or for leaving.moreover he didn’t “kill” henry or was the reason henry made his own choices that led to his death. On top of that, Shin is facing the painful realization that, throughout everything, it’s always been just him in this life. Jake was never truly real or sincere with him, and that betrayal is devastating. heartbroken for shin atm
