I bought the chapters on webtoon and it’s crazy.
Chaeri’s secret is that she was a runaway teen when she was 15 and middle school. She broke up with Huiseung. One of the reasons she wants to debut is that she wants to get rid of her past and she’s willing to do anything for it. She was bullied after returning back to school and there’s strong insinuations of SA and more during her time as a runaway. It’s so sad…

So…
Chaeri’s past got revealed. Sora got it from Jaewon and she ended up telling the account blackmailing her which turned out to be Ilmi. Ilmi deleted the account. Afterwards the entertainment agency released a public statement defending Chaeri since she’s a clear victim of bullying. Chaeri drops out of school.

This is really an adventure story. It’s incredibly interesting how the dragons are fleshed out. It’s funny that the red dragons are known to be dumb LOL. I also like the inhumane aspect to them. It’s a good reminder that basic human decency is at the end of the day only relevant when it comes to humans. These standards are made up at the end of the day and it’s nice to see the not human main character actually act like they aren’t human.
I wonder if it’s the translation or maybe just not written well, but the MC feels really off. It’s hard to pinpoint, but he feels hypocritical.
Maybe we need more explanations of his thought process and how he feels afterwards behind certain actions. If not he feel kinda like the same assholes he looks down on.
For example the scene where someone did something he did in the past, and he said the same thing to her that the asshole did to him. Like it just feels nasty. Maybe if he elaborated more… but the way he acts and his facial expression while it being something the people he looks down on would do… it’s something else.
I get what you mean... with most actor/idol comics we can see what kind of person they are... they have a definite trait we can identify... being a nice guy, being cool but inwardly a wreck... but this mc... despite he being a hypocrite at times... I can't get a feel for his personality... so it feels kinda weird... but idk... it's interesting seeing an mc that's not inherently good or pitiful for a change...
Just started reading the novel and there’s a bunch of emotional stuff that hasn’t made it to the comic. Like when he’s having dinner with his friend in ch 2 or 3? There’s a bit about him wanting revenge against the people who treated him poorly after getting famous, but that he was trying to hold it in because he didn’t want to be like them, that it was like sharp thorns inside him
That makes sense. I thought it felt like a bad adaptation or bad translations. But I wasn’t sure if there was a novel, so this definitely clears it up!
Feeling an emotional connection to the main character is very important for any successful story so this is quite the pity.
