At some point Duke actually used this misunderstanding.
Rumours spread that the duke has a moving doll from black magic. Black magic is taboo. And there was request for investigation.
In the novel, a bit later, he willingly makes it so that everyone brands him as the "The duke, a grown man who is obsessed with playing dolls" by buying a lot of Yuri look alike and setting them up in his room and even getting a puppeteer so that people would just think he was playing with dolls and making them move because he's crazy for dolls. He even sends some extras dolls to his guard's house to look convincing. This was all to prevent everyone from finding out about Yuri being alive and marked as a black magic object, he rather just be known as a doll crazed duke.
I kinda liked this part of the story, he threw away his face so willingly without batting an eye, to the point that the investors from the holy investigator along with some imperial witness were the ones embarrassed by all this and even thought duke was the who spreaded the moving doll rumour to make them investigate just to prank them.

During a banquet, he has a headache and ml takes him to an empty room. Mc hears hid friend's voice and becomes human, that's the first time he became human.
Although, through the story he changes back and forth, as a human and doll. Even when after the main story ended, he changes randomly.

Ml is so really bothered by it. The second mc changes back into human ml attacks him, so mc is actually a bit glad... Just a bit, that he's a doll again, since he can at least take a break from ml's unmatched stamina. Not to mention it sometimes takes mc more than a week before he changes back to human form, so ml is always forced to fast and mc just so carefree about it.
Mc hasn't changed back to a doll during their SPECIAL time though, it's always before or after.
Mc is... Ml's step-mom.
