I dont think the side story happens after the end of the main story but as the same time:
remember the chapter when they're in a public park or in MD's room without mask ? in this week chapter MD said they play only for the show so for me it's not consistent and the timeline is not what we think it is so yeah in the chapters in the mainstory they're dating but not in the sidestory . I dont know if I'm clear here x)

The flashback is spring of year two.. volume two is when they are in third year. Volume one is in year two... but not sure where that flashback falls. But I just feel it is before and I will look in to it.
