They could've just made the blackmailer get an embracing pic ( like the mc after being beat up) of the mc and the mc started fights because his pride was hurt, mc gets knocked out and the blackmailer helps him by taking care of his wounds then there would be grounds for liking the blackmailer then the blackmailer confesses and then consent sex.

That rant was about the defense that some people "like rape" in yaoi, yes I know its fictional tho its a fact that the media we consume affects us is many different ways and this site is open to anyone as in children who will see this stuff and think its ok to do to others. working towards better story's and not story's that show sexual assault as something acceptable, or seen as a acceptable way to "love" someone.
