My thing isnt that Jiwon can’t change. My issue is stories like that this stick to the narrative that one character can rape, abuse, neglect, etc and as long as they “act” like a good guy all will be forgiven. It just mimics the gross real life of abusive boyfriends who open with the line “baby look what you made me do to you”, “baby I can change I promise” , “you’re such a clingy bitch”, “who was that guy with you, I better not see him around you again”, “sometimes you just make so angry, this your fault”. Jiwon is toxic. Not just some misunderstood little boy. He’s a grown man who treats another human being like garbage because he can, and he’ll be forgiven for it all the same. That in itself is a disgusting individual i’d want no one fictional or otherwise to ever have the opportunity to be hurt due to their own insecurities. Jiwon may learn his deplorable ways hurt others mainly DG but he shouldn’t be rewarded for it by being allowed to end with the person they kept around as their emotional punching bag.
