I still don't know how to feel about step siblings (on paper) to lovers pipeline. Like sure they don't regard each other as siblings with Yusaf never recognizing her as family and Ran only seeing herself as a reader/transmigrator and the story does reflect history where royalty marry their literal cousins/blood relatives. But liiiiikkkkeeee......
It's still strange and off putting? Especially as we see it with modern eyes. No amount of romantic tension and approval with whom they are close too/subordinates/have business with imo cam change that they were legally siblings and Ran for the majority of the story wanted to get along as siblings do.

This doesn't 100% take a way from my enjoyment of the story. But yeah still such a strange take I wish Lumier was in the story much earlier as an actual contender for a love interest. Or Second Prince would have a stronger presence but I guess it doesn't quite fit the end game of the story where Ran finally sees Latia as home.

Idk this is just my opinion please don't come for me.

Like Mother is really such a flawed and still very much a selfish character. She may have provided Lily a more comfortable life. But is it really for her daughter's benefit? Or is she doing all this just to atone for her guilt of her past life?
Her crying self pity party infront of Lily gives me the ick? It felt manipulative and like ma'am. Why do you keep using Lily as a fucking therapist. She's a child. She shouldnt be responsible of taking care of you both in your past drunken stupor or your emotional bullshit.

I'm just glad she's starting to realize how she's the worst. Her efforts of being better are clumsy and clearly she needs a lot more work. It's a refreshing take honestly on the regression mother trope. Where she isn't perfect from the moment she's realized she fucked up. She's probably gonna fumble some more cause yes motherhood is hard

Also enjoying the lil tidbits of the mother and emperor's relationship. They're giving such strong fubu vibes....i do hope that they, until and lily will become one big happy green flag family. It's what lily deserves .
