Hmmmmm don't know what to feel about the ending. Like there our cultures who do practice polygamy in the real world and historically in order to secure prosperity, families will arrange the marriages of their children. we just gotta respect it???

But reading this with modern eyes, it's a bit unsettling especially since most of the girls are barely 7 years old and the MC is mentally 50+ years old. On the other hand the story does take place during a time where people marry young because medicine then aren't available and mortality rate is low. (The MCs new parents are young and they had a ceremony celebrating his 1st year). Also I found it uncomfy when the princesses are legally his older sisters.... His first 2 friends made better sense???? But at the same time....do these lil girls do they even know what it means to be married? It just feels like their want to be "bride" stereotypical lil girlie tings where they just wanna play house while MC not wanting to cause chaos between families and hurting the girls is taking their whims seriously. Sir you are mentally 50+, you know better than them!!!

Loved the concept of divorcing Mated Pairs and the possibility of changing of Omegaverse genders due to some factors (environmental/emotional/physical changes).

But my goodness the conflicts and their resolutions are soooo poorly executed. I was excited to read some angst and go through some kind of emotional journey divorce can affect a couple especially since it was a one sided decision with hope that they'd one day grown as individuals and end up together again. But it's just dumb miscommunication..... The fertility issues cause by the fluctuating hormones (the beta to omega to beta to omega) would have been a stronger conflict for the couple to overcome in the first act.

The and the HS 'friend'/photographer was sooooo unnecessary. Like imo the Older Bro and the Photographer could have been just one character. It would have given the Older Bro some nuances as to why he covets the Omega aside from "younger brother is considered the golden child and now I'm bitter". If they removed the and just expanded on the Older Bro's "bitching" (really shitty terminology there), his loneliness and maybe him getting some therapy, we could have had a better 2nd act and a second couple to root for. It would also solve the Alpha's trauma of having a terrible childhood. Like have the Alpha and his older brother break that generational trauma and be better family members to each other instead of the BS of Omega forgiving his ist.

Speaking the "Bitching", it makes it sound like being an omega was a punishment for a world that seems like they have no prejudice against being an omega. In context of the prideful Older Brother turning into an omega as a consequences of his actions... I get it, makes sense. But like.... Omega prejudice is a classic tragic trope we don't need anymore of. And I cant believe it was used to make us readers more sympathetic with a ist.

Poor poor execution of what could have been a great compelling story. 8/

I still don't know how to feel about step siblings (on paper) to lovers pipeline. Like sure they don't regard each other as siblings with Yusaf never recognizing her as family and Ran only seeing herself as a reader/transmigrator and the story does reflect history where royalty marry their literal cousins/blood relatives. But liiiiikkkkeeee......
It's still strange and off putting? Especially as we see it with modern eyes. No amount of romantic tension and approval with whom they are close too/subordinates/have business with imo cam change that they were legally siblings and Ran for the majority of the story wanted to get along as siblings do.

This doesn't 100% take a way from my enjoyment of the story. But yeah still such a strange take I wish Lumier was in the story much earlier as an actual contender for a love interest. Or Second Prince would have a stronger presence but I guess it doesn't quite fit the end game of the story where Ran finally sees Latia as home.

Idk this is just my opinion please don't come for me.

Like Mother is really such a flawed and still very much a selfish character. She may have provided Lily a more comfortable life. But is it really for her daughter's benefit? Or is she doing all this just to atone for her guilt of her past life?
Her crying self pity party infront of Lily gives me the ick? It felt manipulative and like ma'am. Why do you keep using Lily as a fucking therapist. She's a child. She shouldnt be responsible of taking care of you both in your past drunken stupor or your emotional bullshit.

I'm just glad she's starting to realize how she's the worst. Her efforts of being better are clumsy and clearly she needs a lot more work. It's a refreshing take honestly on the regression mother trope. Where she isn't perfect from the moment she's realized she fucked up. She's probably gonna fumble some more cause yes motherhood is hard

Also enjoying the lil tidbits of the mother and emperor's relationship. They're giving such strong fubu vibes....i do hope that they, until and lily will become one big happy green flag family. It's what lily deserves .
