CP2/CP3: Sungtaek, Norman, Minwoo, Cheoljin (black hair-blue eyed)

The CORE complicated/hating relationship/misunderstandings are between Minwoo, Cheoljin and Jaehyun

Minwoo and Jaehyun knew each other from childhood (when Jaehyun was moving back and forth between Seoul and where Minwoo lived in bc of his broken family).

Minwoo and Cheoljin know each other from middle school and high school in Seoul (sorry if this is a spoiler). Jaehyun I think joins the same school (middle school and high school)

Minwoo:
- hates Cheoljin bc he thinks Cheoljin was playing and using him the whole time, esp when Cheoljin disappeared (I think around high school or after?) and broke his heart
- hates Jaehyun bc of some misunderstanding (we don't fully know yet, but it's suggested that he caused something to him and Cheoljin's relationship).

Cheoljin
- HATES Jaehyun (again, we don't fully know yet), but C especially hates "thieves" (remember, Jaehyun stole his money at ktv) and "people who play victim" (thinks Jaehyun is using Suyong)
- how he feels towards Minwoo is *spoilers* bc right now in the story we believe Minwoo and think Cheoljin is playing with him. But happy to spoil if anyone wants~

Jaehyun
- HATES Cheoljin (thinks he's manipulative; remember, he flirted with Jaehyun back in high school even though Jaehyun knew he had a thing with Minwoo)
- towards Minwoo, it's complicated. formerly (with Suyong) was angry bc Minwoo was deliberately spreading bad rumors about him and hitting on Suyong. but now, might actually want to help Minwoo bc he still remembers how Minwoo defended him in their childhood. In middle/high school, Jaehyun knew Minwoo had a crush on Cheoljin and thought about helping out. But later/now, probably thinks he's helping Minwoo by keeping Cheoljin away.

OTHER CONNECTIONS

Suyong and Cheoljin were BFF in high school (hence the drama of Jaehyun "not liking Suyong's friends" + Cheoljin trying to "expose" Jaehyun to Suyong in earlier chapters)

Norman and Sungtaek knew each other as kids.

But the "we still don't know" were exactly where all my confusion was, while I was thinking I was the one forgetting.

My conclusion is that they all have really different characters and approach on life, and this lead to all the misunderstanding, prejudice and hate.

things aren't 100% confirmed since we still haven't gotten cheoljin's pov BUT imo it's clear that cheoljin really really really likes minwoo ;~; like he actually is very intensely quietly suffering rn with minwoo liking norman...later on minwoo treats him pretty badly during sex (cheoljin feels nothing while bottoming finds it painful/triggers his OCD-ish tendencies + minwoo is rough) but he hides all of it from minwoo even manipulates the situation so that minwoo doesn't notice him bleeding ;~;) basically he's the type to quietly endure and hide ALL of his struggles and emotions so it causes all kinds of misunderstandings...the issue with him is that he's TOO good at hiding his emotions - even with this latest english chapter cheoljin is likely insecure about how minwoo is judging where he's living rn and hurt by how minwoo is demanding his help with norman but he's just quietly "...." + tries to manipulate the situation so no one catches it

but like cheoljin is also absolutely kind of insane, controlling and manipulative LMAO his personality is so fascinating (one of my favs in all of BL)--- lowkey i feel like he thinks him and minwoo never broke up and that minwoo is "cheating" on him rn fjsalkdjf anyways there are tons of misunderstandings between them that are only hinted but it's likely class related. all signs show that he comes from a super poor family (rougher than jaehyun), was basically boy-mom to younger siblings -- to this day minwoo seems to have no clue about his circumstances? idk minwoo definitely has blind spots, including when it comes to his own privilege. (so those hints in previous chapters about how cheoljin went through a hard time in HS and worked a billion jobs...that was when he "betrayed" minwoo somehow (through minwoo's pov) so we know something probably went down then). ...so the misunderstanding between him and minwoo is likely stemming from a lot of issues linked to cheoljin hiding his circumstances, his attempt to be "equal" to minwoo, but also his naturally hyper-rational, controlling personality and manipulativeness (that he relied on to survive all this time)

we don't really know for sure bc we're still just getting flashbacks from minwoo's pov lol - cheoljin definitely acts super mysteriously and shadily haha

but my hypothesis is that cheoljin thought that the person minwoo had a crush on was jaehyun (basically minwoo's childhood friend was like "YEA minwoo's been telling me that he has a crush on this person with pretty skin and pretty eyes" - minwoo is referring to cheoljin loll but i think cheoljin is uncertain); and then notice when cheoljin flirts with jaehyun he says "i've noticed you have pretty eyes" LOL) so it's possible he flirted with jaehyun to kind of "test" him in some way - cheoljin likes getting close to people that he thinks minwoo likes (it's some insane possessiveness thing i'm sure).

ALSO cheoljin just flirts a lot generally for multiple reasons - often to get what he wants (he flirted with a classmate to get cheaper textbooks for his little brother) or to "repay" a favor (he was genuinely trying to pay jaehyun back with ktv) or to "test" someone's motivations (i think this is what he does with sooyoung - and when sooyoung rejects him quickly i feel like that's when cheoljin started trusting him?) he's definitely a HOT HOT mess

and basically from minwoo's pov this is around the point where after their lovey-dovey interactions cheoljin suddenly starts pulling away and going colder. but i think there are hints that show that for cheoljin there were probably several incidents/misunderstandings and/or life circumstances that made him decide to pull away that minwoo didn't notice. The main one that we do know was minwoo's brother loudly judging cheoljin (noticing his dirty shoes) when cheoljin was visiting minwoo's place - cheoljin overheard minwoo's brother referring to him as a bad influence and also lecturing minwoo for spending too much money (minwoo was spending it all on cheoljin) - i think that was a real turning point for cheoljin who felt really ashamed and guilty bc he lowkey thinks it's all true - so he was like "i'm going to stop visitng your place. and you have to stop buying things for me". but minwoo didn't notice at all because he still didn't get the class dynamics - -he was just like "i don't care! fuck my brother!". i think it's also around the time cheoljin starts trying to earn more money quickly by being an idol/model.

funnily when cheoljin starts drawing away that's when minwoo notices him hanging out with jaehyun more (for model work/idol training) so i think he thinks cheoljin had a crush on jaehyun tooo fjdksaljf that might be why he hates jaehyun too
