The mother reminded me of my own mother. The part where she tried to turn the situation to hyesung and tried to make it his fault for her not reaching out to him really hit me where it hurts. The fact that she tried to manipulate him really shows how immature and selfish she is.
Blood doesn't mean SHIT when you're a terrible parent and person. Just because you're legally their mother doesn't mean you're their parent. Being a parent means taking care of a child; house them, clothe them, feed them, and LOVE THEM. She lost her privileges to her kid's love once she left him to live with a heaping pile of garbage and refusing to take blame for it.
I'm glad that he didn't forgive his parents. They don't deserve it.
I've never read something so wonderful. I really didn't expect the sudden heartbreak in chapter 14, and was opposed to it at first, but it really kept the plot going and opened up new doors of opportunity for the characters to try out. I did think that the rock onee-san was a bit out of character in chapter 23, but now that I've read it twice, I think that it really shows her character development, even if it's just a little bit. I'm so glad that the author decided to put in filler chapters so that we could get a break from the rollercoaster that is this manga, and the filler chapters were actually really good, WHICH IS A VERY FOREIGN CONCEPT, we still learned more about the characters all the while getting to see them eat at a cafe.
This whole manga was a rollercoaster of emotions and I'm so glad that I finished it. I don't think that I'll be able to find another manga that has as much depth as this one, and that's okay. Because I'm just gonna re-read this again.
