No. The story itself isn't toxic. Maybe tj but he's not toxic in actively hurting the MC physically. They all have flaws (red flag?) But I wouldn't say they're toxic if you're thinking like actually hurting each other on purpose. Maybe someone else can explain better than me but I would not say they're toxic just complex characters. But the story is frustrating to those who are here for only endgame.
I will note that tj does guilt trip Ian and shows manipulation. Still I think the story is a good read and not toxic as others make it to be. It is the fandom that's toxic.
i’m not gonna sugar coat you on this, ian the mc have high level of empathy and guilt so lots of his actions are based on those two things. tj and jo have high level of obsession. So yes it’s pretty toxic in some ways
