Dude just wrapped in the blanket like “tf am I watching???”

But main orange guy and the black haired guy. Felt sick reading what black hair guy went through- can’t imagine how he feels/felt at that moment, the dread and anger of being used to just physically fill a contact. How sad

When I first started reading Yaoi/BL stories I focused on the smut centered stories but as I’ve gotten older I appreciate the plot driven stories way more then the 18+ scenes. Tbh I get irritated when a story is only about smut. Like what’s the point of spending all that time writing a story for it to only focus on sex and pleasing the weirdos who get off to it. I also think it’s interesting and a little scary how much the BL/GL fans supports the fuxked up aspects of a story (like rape or assault) like the story could be complete ass but a fav bc it has smut in it. The story could also be decent but be ruined by one of the main characters being a rapist (im thinking of jinx btw)

I was reading this one bl and people in the comments were complaining about how slow it was and how we weren’t getting enough smut. I was flabbergasted bc what the hell.

idk i just thought about this and wondered if others also think this way.

because sex sells. those authors enjoy drawing two men fucking so why not slap an ass plot on it and sell it for an income?
also fast pace is a problem with all current comics, probably Chinese is the only exception, because those comics are made for production. they are selling a product, they want to get the money quickly and they don't want to risk losing readers, aka buyers, by making a slow pace work, the longer the work is the more readers you're going to lose.

just look at most author notes, a lot of them end up with health problems because they are forced to produce an episode weekly, so of course they want to finsh with this hell schedule quickly. also a lot of authors comment or complain about their works being changed by editors to be sell better.

i dont mind the smutty stories as long as the characters in there are also good/well written, but in general i find myself appreciating plot driven stories more like u do.

i agree w u about the liking stories w rape just cuz the smuts good but tbh i rly dont even get what makes a good smut scene. like what happens? they get off? whoopie now what.

also i dont pay too much attention to those comments asking for more smut cuz half of the time their username is donald trump's big flat juicy asscheek or smth like that, so u should just expect theyre mentally ill atp. fork found in kitchen ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

This is a part of the reason as to why I started avoiding BL, actually. Not only do many yaoi manhwas romanticize rape, the readers are often extremely misogynistic. I've been in numerous fandoms and in every single one I've encountered self-centered fujoshis who would gladly exclude a woman from her canon love interest to ship the love interest with another male. Oldest example of this is Kirk x Spock from Star Trek wherein the fans of the white mlm ship excluded Kirk's canon love interest, a black woman, as they found it more favorable to see two white people together rather than have a black woman be with a man. Another recent example of this is JayVik shippers and how they talk about Mel, a black woman, who is the canon love interest of Jayce.

I used to be those yaoi obsessed girls and would side and call myself a 'fujoshi' but now that term brings a bad taste in my mouth as I'm aware of how violently misogynistic, racist, and ironically enough homophobic fujoshis can get. I don't appreciate the superiority complex many fujoshis have, claiming how their shipping is activism when not once have they read yuri, cover up their dislike for women as hating straight content, label women as aroace or/and lesbian and throw her with a random woman to ship with so she can get out of the way of mlm (Im a lesbian, other lesbians call those ships as the 'leftover yuri ship), more and more. The attitude of fujoshis toward others and the content they consume has led to me not really wanting to read BL or interact with BL. Moreover, if you speak up about how violenty misogynistic fujoshis are/were and that being why the term 'fujoshi' has a negative connotation, many of them would go and insult you. Another recent behavior from fujoshis I've noticed is how they would choose to insult actual gay men sharing how sometimes they're uncomfortable of how fujoshis act and fujoshis saying how they 'aren't going to sexualize an ugly blue haired gay man' and would 'only ship' their 'semes' and 'ukes'.

TLDR : Fujoshis' refusal to acknowledge the misogyny, racism, homophobia, and rape fetishization in their space has led me to drift away from yaoi.

yeah I think you summaries a lot of the reasons why I avoid bl spaces, they act like having media literacy and criticism is a crime and take it as personal attacks and they use their identity as a women as a defense mechanism.

unfortunately a lot of their behaviour explains why it's so hard to find actual good bl, a story that can stand on its plot rather than its homo relationship. the amount of time they use (it's bl, what do expect?) as an excuse for shit works is sad honestly, but people gotta feed the demand. even I have to use it to not get disappointed by works.

it's not as bad when you choose who to interact with and where to, it's kinda hard though because it will lead you to interact with the fandom, you lose some (brain cells) you win some (chill people).
