For me it's the tone, I can read anything, so long as the tone is portrayed properly. As in, so long as bad things are treated as such, I dont mind reading it, but when they try to portray creepy stuff as lovely fluffy stuff I get annoyed.

I don’t think it’s portrayed fluffy. It’s quite obvious that ML is manipulative. it’s “fluffy” bc the authors switches pov between ML and FL. so when FL perspective comes up, she romanticizes his actions but the audience and ML know otherwise.
