Im not gonna lie I enjoy this a lot but the fact she says “what matters most is that I have the upperhand” is exactly what I don’t like about them having sex. It’s such a competition in her head that she has to maintain power that I feel like theres no enjoying just the feeling of the moment and going with the flow like I feel like they should see a sex therapist or something

You're not wrong and I typically side with the commenter when it comes to sex and manhwas but... This is a domsub relationship where clearly, Richard wanted to be the dog licking their master's feet and Courtney wanted to be the master asking the dog to lick their feet. The main commenter have a problem with Courtney feeling like that when we have Richard do more uh... dubious things? Kinda? Ugh... Anyway, commenter I replied to, you're right.

That's pretty much how bdsm works. Plus, they had pretty much established their position since the beginning. Although it probably better to talk about the issue at hand, but I think they learned from their previous session. She was obviously hate not being in control, and he understood that she was upset. For people who only prefer one position, they can't get arouse or satisfied doing the opposite. Either way, they still learning.

wait like i don't get why he's mad jake isn't a gangster like isnt that a good thing like is he mad he's a cop or whatever someone pls explain

The core issue here isn’t that Jake isn’t a gangster it’s the betrayal and deception that Shin feels. Shin has been strung along by Jake under false pretenses, believing he was involved with a gangster. Now, to find out that Jake is actually an undercover CIA agent feels like a massive lie, not a relief. Shin’s anger comes from the fact that Jake hid the truth from him, manipulating their entire relationship. It’s not about Jake’s job; it’s about the lack of honesty and respect for Shin’s feelings. Imagine investing so much in someone, only to realize they’ve been playing a role the whole time. So, yes, Jake’s not a gangster is good news, but it doesn’t excuse the fact that he’s deceived Shin and invalidated his feelings the whole chapter

No, it's not that he likes bad boys. He felt betrayed by jay. Jay made him believe that the both of them are at the 'bottom'. He thought he knew something about jay but no, he didn't. He was ready to throw everything for jay at any minute but then got slap right in the face with the truth. He 'abandon' gren, his only family, well of course it's only a matter of time before gren self-destruct (mostly, because he was influence by jay, it was Jay who gave him reasons to make him 'abandon' gren) He's not just angry or betrayed, he's hurting too. Imagine being ready to give up everything for that one person just to realise that you don't know a thing about them while the other person knows everything about you.

I haven’t checked the raws but if this tape scene continues for more than just an extra chapter, I really want to make the statement that editors really need to stop their authors from stretching out and thereby normalizing these abusive scenes in manhwas. I knew what I was going into was gonna be a messy and toxic relationship but the scenes do not need to be several chapters of it. Enough. It’s derivative also.

Well, it’s a popular trope / story telling tool because it’s polarizing. There’s a weird influx of purity culture rising up in the fan base and so much content recently just makes a lot of people uncomfortable. On the other end of the spectrum there’s people who aren’t bothered by it. I dropped this a bit ago and pop in to see what the story development is but it’s not been interesting to me. I checked the raws and am pulling this off my reading list because I think the story took a turn that it really didn’t need.

Can we not conflate questioning the tokenisation of rape in BL stories with purity culture? Cause one is a good faith criticism that questions rape culture and the other is just using morality as a weapon. I think it's clear the OP is not just going "Ew" bc they think icky content should be censored, but bc these authors clearly can't handle what theyre writing.

I don’t think not wanting to see a rape go on for several chapters is purity culture. That’s a major conflation. It’s just that there’s an excess here that’s serving nothing more than shallow shock factor that it’s unoriginal and exorbitant at this point. Were allowing something so unpleasant become the norm in this genre
Is it bad I’m glad gren is dying like i do not care for him as a character
