elva is supposed to die young as a child warrior, but alto’s love is somehow counteracting the curse. a romance about devotion and small little intimacies. brushing each other’s hair, making food, having sleepovers. for a fantasy action-y manga, the romance is really grounded in the simple affection the two leads have for each other! but be warned: this sweetness can only feel so good because the rest of the story is kinda incredibly angsty. so tread carefully! 8/10
