It’s a fiction. Everyone can like whatever. It doesn’t apply in real life. You don’t tolerate something like this so you find solace in the fictional world, where you know its absurdity is far from reality and you can, hence, you like it. When an author writes, they expect their readers to be smart enough to know this. So I don’t understand why you’re trying to ask for just a specific trope like it’s a bad thing to like that? It’s part of the plot.

Again, it's fiction. Not sure what's not clicking and what you're trying to prove. It can downplay anything, not just rape. I like it because it's fiction. Good for you, you know it's fiction but you still question why some people like it. So you won't question if people doesn't like it? Because that's socially acceptable in reality? Lol, again, reiterating that this is fiction. People may like it but that doesn't mean they condone rape in reality. Fiction are there to also remind us what not to tolerate, like bullying and rape. Unpopular opinion, but I see where you're coming from. There's something tragically beautiful about committing to only one certain person and loving them unconditionally, even when it's one-sided. It's somewhat altruistic. But I personally hope he let go of the past and was able to find his better half that actually cherishes and loves him without hesitating. It's what Cain deserves and Jooin was not worth it
