literallt. But i understand. The reality is people grow up and love fades. He didn't reach out because of his family problems and slowly lost contact. It's fucked up for sure but that's how it goes. Relationships are hard and it's easier to not hurt someone when you see them everyday. It's clear he still likes her but is trying to hide it because of what she said. He's respcting her boundaries because of everything he put her through.
