I know it is part of the hero story but God I hate that the dukes faction is able to manipulate the king like that right away as soon as it's going well. If they could do that why did they not do it earlier? It makes it feel like a cheap trick the writer pulled out of their ass to make new problems for mc because it was starting to go too well.
True its an oversight on Ghislain's part. He did not take into account that the duke can heal the king and get in their way. And the Marquis not sending a message asap to the mc is another mistake. A messenger bird can get there within half a day, so why waste time with the king who obviously is siding with the enemy.
