I'm reading the novel,
ML doesn’t beat mc anymore. Instead he takes care of him in —washing his hair, helping him sleep, and looking after him.

The story,
MC is suddenly introduced to his older stepbrother who he never knew existed and now he suddenly has a "hyung." Then mc's mother left him. He and his stepbrother were always together, like brothers and friends. At school students gossiped about the stepbrother calling him an illegitimate son and making disgusting comments about his mother. Mc always defended him, but deep down, he felt relieved that his own mother wasn’t like the stepbrother’s. (He was just a child at the time.)
Later mc discovers the truth, his biological mother is actually the stepbrother’s mother, and the woman he thought was his mother is actually the stepbrother’s. This revelation shakes him and he decides to fix everything. He tries to make his stepbrother a legitimate son by contacting lawyers and talking to his father and grandfather, but they are against it.
Then mc started going to bars, sleeping around (with women), and rebelling.
Then Chairman Lee (mc’s grandfather) invites both mc and his stepbrother to a party, to introduce the stepbrother to society. But at the party people speak negatively about the stepbrother. Unable to handle, stepbrother runs away. When mc goes to find him, he discovers that his stepbrother has committed suicide.

The friend Heechan, mc's grandfather had asked him to keep an eye on mc, but everything that happened to mc was because of Heechan. After the stepbrother’s death, mc couldn’t sleep so Heechan gave him sleeping pills and aphrodisiacs. He was also behind mc’s DUI accident. He ran mc’s social media accounts and spread rumors about him, by posting pics. He put the knife in his notebook.
Back in Chapter 1, Heechan was the reason mc got drugged and raped. He did all of this for money. The chairman never ordered him to do these things, he only asked him to watch over mc.
ML will take revenge on everyone.

I read the novel.
The first 100 chapters… nothing really happened.
Then in chapter 113, ML raped MC because MC was hiding alcohol, despite the ML telling him not to drink or hide it.
The rape scene was completely unnecessary.
But what I hated the most was the MC's brother/sister and the best friend.

In past life, MC's sister's best friend wrote a novel, MC as a side character and the sister liked it and asked MC to read it. But how could the sister ask the MC to read a novel where character with his same name, he who was desperate for love and then committed suicide??

this comment is so funny LOL all you need to know is that christophe is outrageously gorgeous, and while taeui is NOT romantically attracted to christophe at all, there’s these two scenes - (1) taeui and christophe go swimming in a creek and taeui admires christophe’s body + face and has to stop his thoughts from going astray lol (2) taeui’s messing around and squishing christophe’s cheeks and he has a very brief thought where he thinks sleeping with christophe would be nice (LOLL and immediately after he thinks ‘oh god if ilay could hear my thoughts rn he’d kill me’)
One thing u need to know about tay is that he is very very ‘casual’ about sex esp prior to joining unhrdo and kristoff is really GORGEOUS, he looks ethereal and everyone always compliment his face even tay. Personally, Diasim is better than passion when it comes to iltae’s relationship and tbh i love iltae + cris dynamic theyre my fave trio theyre peak comedy.
But yea if ur uncomfortable with SA it is kinda worse than passion bc of Richard, but if ur into real enemies/rivals to lovers Chris x Richard actually serve.
