This isn't drawn into the manhwa, but I'm getting the impression, what if God's visage was only a product of his mind caused by his desperate plea for atonement? Maybe, he found the relief he couldn't find anywhere else in degeneracy. Then he started to believe his lunacy as real.
Michael was riddle by his own demons (metaphorical) he saw the Priest like beacon and condemned himself for having forbidden feelings toward him. There are nuance that although he is religious, he lacks faith in their god because of the bad things happening around him.
Maybe he got roped into it because both of them weren't pure in the first place. And the label pure that's repeatedly mentioned in the chapters didn't entirely mean pure at all, but tainted. Yet, because he couldn't overcome the grief, he clung onto the word pure and deluded themselves.
At the end, both of them surrendered to the relief. Michael accepted the priest because he had feelings for him, but I get the impression this wasn't how he wanted it to be. And they looked sadder than before.

My gosh this is an interesting take that it made me feel dumb for not seeing in that lens like the oneshot manga about peeled apples and a knife dialogue and some got the deeper story and interpretation- who the real perpetrator is

are the mangago ratings accurate or is my site tweaking? backlight has only 167 votes but it has over 100 pages of comments while oni to tengoku kyuu which is a sequel has over 500 votes?? im confused

The reason why the "Oni to Tengoku" prequel only got 169 votes is because back in 2021, Mangago reset it to 0 or altered it to be lower. Every comic back then got reset or altered because the authors kept posting this site on Twitter and pointing out how much this illegal site had a lot of readers. Also, back then, you could see how many people viewed a manga, and there were over 500k+ people who viewed it, which the authors would also point out. So then, Mangago had to remove it.

damn see i thought some series were relatively unpopular and mangago wasnt that big LMFAO ive only been on this site for 2 years so idk all the lore although it makes sense not to show the true numbers for the sake of the authors. thanks for the info!
