The translation is kinda shit, especially in the first chapters, but to my surprise i loved the ml and fl and i can't wait to read the next chapters.
Although they have the same cardboard personality as the typical striaght smut manhwa, they still seem quite nice and are already showing some character development.
I just nead a spoiler is the emperor the ml? Cuz from the first chapters he is such an ass.. i don't see any redeeming feature of him except that he was kinda interested in the mc in the previous life
I get it that everyone has their own opinion and i could be wrong as i had only read the first chapters, but he knew all the scheming and backstabbing that is going on between the concubines, and he does nothing about it and instead sees it as a test for the mc. So imo i thought that was really shitty, but again i could be very pessimistic
But i think i got to ahead of myself as it was my own judgment and dump of thoughts just from the first like ten chapters. Sorry if i offended anyone( ̄∇ ̄")
Completely agree with all the comments..i'm glad i'm not the only one disgusted by the ml's behaviour
From the start, i didn't have much expectations for the manhwa as it's the typical ones with no actual plot, bland characters and prepubescent romance..but this is so much worse than i thought.
I don't wanna shit on the author's work, but i just can't help but wonder why they chose to write this. Like it's getting way overdone villainizing women for not being as gentle and sweet as a cube of sugar. The og irwen had all her reasons to be hostile to the ml and the empire...like how do they expects us to root for the ml and isekaid girl??
Such an amazing story, a true gem hideen in the josei genre. Polished, well thought out characters, with a sense of realism that escapes the 2d world while still maintaining the cliches and innocece of the fictional realm. I just loved the artistic decisions that the author took such as showing the couple's progress in the work of the ml.
This is the type of manga you stumble upon on accident, but it's definitely what you needed for a refreshing new read!
A must read manga that surpassed my expectations.
It'll change your perspective on the prototypical, overdone and undimensional shoujo manga!
This is really fucking good, why isn't this more famous?!?
First of all, the concept is really creative and well thought out. I loved that the plot centers around the in and outs of the lives of manhwa artists, there's also THE DRAMA and whole behind-the-scenes that goes on the making of manhwas (even though this isn't the first time it's incorporated in the story, i'd never seen this explored that well).
Also, I like the big diversity of characters and their whole dynamics, even with their short or long screen time i can still get a good grasp on how their personality are, thanks to the excellent script.
Second, it blows my mind how they come up with this type of plots. In reality, the base of the manhwa isn't that new, but the details and complexity of the story it's really what stands out. Like from the simple concept of the mc drawing inspiration from her own romantic life and later on reuniting with her 1st love (which ended in a lot of miscommunications) is a cliché well overdone, but the pacing and realistic portrayal of the characters's emotions and their type of thinking reaches a whole new level of story building.
Third, in regards to the romantic aspects i like how it flows in waves... It doesn't move linearly, instead there are setbacks or the manhwa aspect is more pushed forward, which is soo interesting and refreshing (and it's one of the few instances in which i'm as interested in that aspect as the romantic part).
This type of love square will get veryyy juicy in the next chapters, and i'm soo looking forward.
And last of all, how this is mixed all together it's such aghh soo good. Like the characters, plot, art, smut, everything is incredible. ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
I love love manhwa/gas like this, that they center around finding oneself in life and deal with complicated and realistic characters, especially when it's location is based outside of the city life and like the background is a character on itself. (This goes particularly well with the whole concept of surfing and it being lifestyle by itself)
Such a shame that the author didn't continue the 2nd season..from the 1st chapter i was hooked and was so looking forward to reading more about this.
If anyone is heartbroken of the discontinuation, i highly recommend another manhwa. 'Be my guest' has a similar outline of the story. There's a strong fl who gets away of the city and impulsively decides to take a trip to a small island in Japan, where she will meet love and find a new breath of life. The vibes are soo similar and in both cases i felt a sense of calmness and the urge to just travel to a new country and experiment life in new exciting ways, to really find my place in the world!
Idk i just love to read manhwas like this cuz for a few mins i get to vicariously live new life through the characters.
I gotta put a warning tho, be my guest has smut
I really liked it. It has non stereotypical male leads, character growth, a cute and slow burn love, both of them are so green flag for knowing how to communicate their feelings and looking for the consent of one another.
I loved how it's handled the topic of weight and body image. It is set in the more ideal and bubbly scenario for someone with a more diverse body type, but nonetheless his weight was adressed during the manga in a very positive light and without shaming bigger sizes, and instead embracing it and finding charm in the actual person and not falling in labels.
I loved how they said that fukuyama despite his body type was really popular with the ladies..that was a nice detail. And what i loved the most is how they went around with the conversation about food. In any case, the other characters didn't try to shame the ml for liking to eat, the same goes for the author for creating healthy conversations around eating habits for their characters as well as excersising
I highly recommend it and the smut scenes were so good and let us peep a little bit more into their more private lives
