i usually like my mcs to have a bit more backbone to them, i don't like it when they're too "eep"-y and doormats, i hate misunderstandings, or grown adults not acting like it. this delivered in the most brutal way possible

mc's a prideful kid who got dealt with a hand of the worst cards imaginable in life, with a bunch of obsessive chaebols hounding his heels, his reaction to his traumas was the most normal out of all of them

i didn't cry while reading this, but each hardship mc faced felt like a punch to the gut

for those interested in reading: he Goes through it. this is a whump session, you will feel frustrated and drop it with all the misunderstandings going on, but it's such a thoughtful story of healing and picking up broken pieces of yourself

bit of a spoiler warning:

i wouldn't call this a great story overall, but it's one with heart and more substance that your usual same genre fodder you read

you can really tell the author did their research on mental health, and i appreciate that the more sensitive sex scenes (like the grape) didn't veer on the side of fetishizing it

heroes aren't born, they're made

they're people who rise to the occasion, berudgingly taking up the mantle to take to arms about causes that matter more than themselves

been loving the series so far! I think what sets these apart was how the punishment system gives us insight to how our villains aren't really villains, and also works as the grounding agent so our OP MC doesn't let all that power get to his head. he's grown up so well!! i want to know how he'll handle harsher punishments from now on

another thing: I was actually invested in the romance! it was a tonal whiplash, but as someone who loves villainess regressor story lines, it was just so fucking sweet when she was able to retain her memories, excited where they'll take this lol they're pretty whole characters

it's a fun read! not much introscpection from the mc when they turn into a girl up until towards the end when they accepted their feelings for the ml

for the ending, I kinda get the angle they were getting at? ml will always love mc whatever form they take. it's a bit underwhelming, considering everything that happened lol

why does the smut have to be so nice??? my says yes, my mind is screaming to run for the hills lmao

Posterchild of the "Don't think about it too hard" genre of BL. They argue and are violent with each other. It's played for comedic effect, and kinda does it's job.

No guilty introspection of where the attraction stemmed from, no pining, and no gentle resolution of falling in love. A quick-ish read that you don't need to think too hard on.

it's just so funny to me that the end chapter could've easily switched to a different type of manga lmao

the dialogue isn't that weird, i think they tried to stay true to "gay speak" and used english equivalents in their translations

the way they draw art is hella pretty! I feel like it's such an interesting premise and world to delve into, lots of grey areas of both morality and sexuality

pacing is hella fast, but it doesn't detract on how heartwarming the story is, wished it was one of those 5 ch ones tho to really properly feel out the whole thing as it unfolded

ml isn't a homosexual, he's a homiesexual

tw for the usuals, what's unique in this manga is how it managed to be both straight and hella gay at the same time in it's execution, there's so much casual sexism in it that it turned me off it multiple times

the plot plotted and did enough lifting to justify 70+ chapters of it, enjoyable but not something you'd read for the plot lmaoooo

mc is dumb as rocks and would get into 'interesting' situations, some of these involve him getting beat up and SA'd but it doesn't go through all the way, nothing too graphic re: pain and getting beat up

no major yikes "no means yes" interactions between mc and ml, tho in the 1st chapter mc gets drugged up and horned up that he blows and fucks ml while asleep

a decent semi-mindless read, and it doesn't commit the most egregious sin for me, which is to be an uninteresting read and drag it out longer than it needs to

loving all the high femme romances, kinda makes me wish for more butch x butch stories

if you're like the mc, don't think of yourself as just the side character of a story :) it's ok to be selfish at times
