Alex is a great guy. I mean, he went through that heartbreak and he reacts by making sure DG doesn't make the same mistake as him - believing in a relationship that is built in lies. I honestly think they can be good together, DG and Alex, and I hope it works out. What I'm saying is, having gone through that trauma, Alex could be doing the part of the douche, hurting people, but he's not. He's trying to avoid that.
EDIT: "A great guy". I mean, sure he's a little too rough, a little bit of a brute sometimes, but I still think he's a good person :P I mean, sure, you got hurt, I get it, you only care about yourself now and that's "fine", but jesus christ man, go a little easier on your lover, godammit
Yeah I went through something Hella similar to what Alex went through minus the kissing and sex. I was laughed at and lied to, I mean LITERALLY what Alex was told. And that was my first love. All I can say is it definitely has fucked me up. I first really disliked Alex but then I noticed we were extremely similar. You're absolutely right in what you're saying, he's been honest with DG since day one, and tries not to lead him on. We're literally one in the same lmao, so his reaction is very natural, your first love can really fuck up the way you see love forever. I'm glad I didn't go all the way with that person, cause I would've gotten even more messed. As someone who through the same thing as the character, I think people shouldn't blame him all that much, and try to understand him more.
Cause it really hurts when the first person you've ever fallen IN LOVE WITH leads you on, tells you they love you, and then laugh at you.
Yeah, I think it's a really tough situation. I've never been through that, but I imagine it has a tremendous weight. I like Alex as a character because he's not just another douche, he's a person who has experienced certain things and reacts to things his own way.

Yeah! People are just so used to those streotypes in Yaoi that when they see realistic characters they get mad, they just want the fantasy. But if they're gonna choose to continue reading this more realistic story, they should at least try to understand the characters.
Oh and yeah, I guess I feel better about it. I get his struggle it's hard to love AND trust again, especially when you're someone who generally got their shit together.
