Long story short mc was under a gang when he was a kid and was tasked to get close with ml and then set a stage for the gang to kidnap ml. ML develop severe PTSD from the kidnapping and still can't move on but was annoyed how mc can move on with his life.

But well ML is not a bad person lol he "tried" to have his revenge but he never abuse, rape or force anything on mc. Even their first time having sex, mc was the one who ask to do it lmao

I see thank you for pointing that out, I read the novel version of that scene and also make me cry but not the manhwa here , I feel some emotion for that scene is missing .

I think it's because it is a bit more difficult to storytell in a manhwa than a novel.

Reading Manhwa might be more empty for novel readers especially when we've already read the novel since were more accustomed to being directed by words to use our imaginations than artwork depicting the emotions. It takes skill to do that in art (as an artist myself)

Us novel readers have the tendency to place higher expectations on manhwa adaptations because we've read the novel already and it might mean more to us, that's why some are a bit more critical lololol.

You should try "The One Within the Villainess" and "May I Ask for One Final Thing?". I haven't started the latter but I heard it's gonna have its own anime version.

She has a good personality and the plot is well set. She doesn't want to be a villainess because she simply isn't one. And, I like that she actually make an effort. Nowadays it's more common to find female protagonist that already knows everything or just learn to use a sword in two chapters. So it's kinda refreshing seeing her put her head to work

Let me add: they're right that she isn't... Currently. But what she read in the book, she did try to kill the previous FL. You'll understand it once you read how she does turn into that villain (eventually, but not really)

Later, in the novel at least, we understand that she's not that kind of person. She wouldn't kill Maria
