I think the kid he picked up is minchan. So what he means is that when he has the soul minchan will be use has vessel. And the soul in minchan will be replace by seihos soul. But I could misinterpret that (-.-‘)

From the creators twitter it seems they're still posting since April so it doesn't seem like the series is completely abandoned! They're probably still working on the project till it's fully thought out and stuff, sorry if this isn't any helpful or new to you! ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
