I guess I’m the only one who actually liked what’s happened. Not every fl should be with the first ml. While the prince feelings was genuinely filia wasnt. It was a duty that was graced on her. Her affection came from a past that made it easier to connect with the prince. She’s attracted to him but as you watch she was always more resistant with the ML than her guard. She genuinely liked him and connected with him on a level she never thought she could ever experience. And while she experienced it with the prince it was because of her powers. Filia never really used her powers on her guard.
If you truly didn’t understand what was happening etc then you was only skimming through the story. The story is about fate and the awful connections that was built to the moment where one girl (filia) had to over come her personal fear and selfishness in order to protect the kingdom and the people around her. Her destiny being predetermined and her fear of doing the same as her predecessor. Having to work out how to fix what happened while also keeping your sense of duty to not only yourself but a kingdom is definitely hard.
The prophecy came true, the kingdom did fall but not like it was expected to. That prophecy showed the worse possible outcome if filia did follow the footsteps of the past, and that’s what she was worried about. As for the love interests I feel people are so used to their not being no real struggle for who it will and who it won’t that they subconsciously picked the most likely which was the Prince. The thing is that people don’t realize that them being together would be more of a power of control. Filia wouldn’t be happy and would constantly have to worry about outside people attacks not only that her affection and love was more out of her duty for him than her love for him.
Filia was genuinely afraid for the guard to find out because she lied to him. She was afraid that her following her heart will drive the prince to madness. She was also afraid of what will come to change if she does gain her freedom. That’s why the prince letting her choose was so important because if she truly loved him the way he did her she would have chose him. Throughout the story the times she spoke about being with the prince it was spoken as an expectation, a job she has to do. That’s why I’m the beginning when she spoke about them being together he was devastated.
We all know woori gonna get rejected soon or end up being pushed to the side after being together for a little bit because hairstylist guy will “come to his senses” so let’s just enjoy this small bit while we still have it
