from wht i remember jooha mom died because of those loan sharks (probably attacked her) and the only thing abt joohas dad is that he was gambling addict, and took loans and shit and died after, leaving the debt collectors to come for joohas mom
Its never quite explained how she died, but basically the loan sharks and pilwon leaving her led to her dying, probably taking her own life because jooha often thanks her for showing him how to deal with things before doing something reckless
