what i noticed in time stuff:
First messy notes:
They met Ruu in chapter 1, the exact date is not known.
this is the first day of filming.
Chapter 2 takes place on "august 5th" if you believe the clock on page 3,
this was the day that the mc's classmate Junko was dismembered exactly 2 years prior.
This scene may be a flash forward towards august 5th
the time is about 8:45 am which would, kind of, fit with the time he got the message for the summer festival (about 6:30 am) and the meeting time of 11 am (he arrived around 11:15 hence the running in chap 4)
This is day 2 of filming
This is the immediate day after day 1 of filming because "yesterday" was mentioned.
On this day mc also starts calling Ruu as just Ruu.
Chapter 3 takes place on the day after chapter 2, we'll call this date A. The day after this they go to the zoo
AKA day 3 of filming
Chapter 4 takes place in the evening before the sendai tanabata festival which has a fireworks display I think.
It's august 5th.
They were supposed to go to the zoo (see first panel page 5) so this would be the day after chapter 3
This is day 4 of filming.
So until chapter 5 where time gets weird it goes like this:
Day 1: August 2nd?
- Meet Ruu
- "I love you" scene filming
Day 2: August 3rd?
- MC starts calling Ruu by "Ruu" in the evening
- "cat and magical girls" scene filming
Day 3: August 4th?
- Amusement park filming
- "bunny/alice in wonderland" scene filming
Day 4: August 5th
- Supposed to be zoo day
- Supposed to be day of Junko's death (same death as Ruu's death)
and now to chap 5:
This is noted to be august 4th in multiple instances.
They would go to the amusement park under normal circumstances.
Weird stuff:
1. when the friends visit MC Ruu is surprised to be called "Ruu", Ruu was also already calling him Junnosuke without the -san at this point but at the start of chap 5 returns to Junnosuke-san.
Ruu calls him with the -san until they are alone in chap 2, there she goes to -kun once before reaching the train scene where it goes to no extra thingie.
2. When MC mentions the rabbit (chap 3) and cat (chap 2) everyone is confused at both of them.
The rabbit being logical since this would not happen until after the return. But the cat was before this/on evening before returning
thus shit has been changed from the point of the morning of
You could theorize that the everything starting chap 2 had not happened.
Then it moves onto the second day, august 5th, he gets called by ruu.
Ruu starts ranting at the river banks about lies and stuff, probably something we don't know about
Or possibly something that happened instead of what we saw in chap 2 aka august 3rd.
The date may have been written incorrectly at the start of chap 2 and the Junko death may have actually been on August 3rd.
Then time skips seemingly to what is nearly the end of the month, august 24th, but we can't trust that date thingy, but his dear friend mentions "all month"
His room is a mess so considerable time has passed.
There is the mention of the "back alley death" possibly the first august 5th we saw.
He may have hit his head and become delusionous.

theory 1: the mc is jumping between different alternative timelines and keeps ending up on different days
theory 2: the same as theory 1 but also the thought that author fucked up the dates and the events planned out on them
The second theory would be funny welp let’s hope the author is trying their best to work off the interesting timeline cause I know I would be confused writing it
