I read this quite a while back, and it still remains one of my top faves. The art is so beautiful, and even with just a few chapters, the characters and storylines are well-developed. I do hope that Sensei will continue with this series, perhaps even in a future setting, where Emba and Yuuen's "eternal vow" will find rebirth.(▰˘◡˘▰)

LOL! That aside, I'm glad that we're getting more character development which opens up so many possible twists and stories!

I'm kinda missing the old man, Kabu-san's father, but then again, given the brutality of the series, I'm glad he was given a proper send off, while Nariaki and Nirasawa can finally be fully honest with each other. Ike Reibun-Sensei has really spoiled us on this one, with so many intriguing and complex characters and a solid story.

Strangely enough, I'm especially drawn to Mineishi-san. http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/bi_no_kyoujin_smoke/nmt/tr_chapter-5/pg-6/ Quite the reliable right-hand man, but also a leader in his own right. He's probably straight, but I do hope Sensei can explore his story too. Wouldn't mind another story about Kouki as well. (▰˘◡˘▰)

Kina and Akito adjusting their lives to welcome two children...teaching about New Year traditions, working together as a family, looking out for each other... It just goes to show that family is family, no matter who it's comprised of. (▰˘◡˘▰)

I bow down to the great Queen of Fujoshis... Kaoru! She has always been the biggest supporter of Al and Ranmaru's relationship and now the unofficial sponsor for their wedding. She'll probably marry Gondou anyway, and kick his ass out on their wedding night. And "then" maybe Gondou will finally get his own story (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

What a surprisingly sweet chapter! I'm especially happy that Tsunakawa's daughter, Niki, got some screen time. Niki-chan is such a sweetheart, very open and loving. I would think that being with her gave Doumeki a sense of purpose, while allowing him to have a quiet and almost normal relationship (she's still from a yakuza family, so it's probably as ordinary as it can get). Perhaps it's a way for Doumeki to also make up for his tumultuous relationship with his own sister.

Personally, I think both Doumeki and Yashiro need this time away from each other, build other relationships, to heal and resolve old wounds.
