OUT HERE EXCUSING A CRIMINAL
like its one thing to fuck up
BUT TO KIDNAP AND THREATEN TO HAVE SOMEONE RAPED
NO
JUST NO
FUCK RIGHT OFF
No one is excusing anyone. You clearly don’t know how to read. Literally 99% of the people who are feeling for Chowon are literally saying they don’t excuse their actions, but are explaining the opportunity for growth and understanding of Chowon’s actions. UNDERSTANDING DOES NOT EQUAL EXCUSING. READ A FUCKING DICTIONARY YOU ABLEIST
You are the biggest hypocrite I have ever had the displeasure of having a discussion with, you are calling me illiterate with no knowledge of my education history, my existent or nonexistent learning disabilities or what opportunities I've had in my life. I'm probably wasting my time arguing with a high schooler or a middle schooler but it is not ableism to call out clearly written criminal offences by the author, I never once discriminated against his mental issues in my comment (which is what ableism is, in case you don't have access to google). My comment did also not say that Chowon could not grow as a person, of course he can, after atoning for his crimes and perhaps having a therapy of some sort. But the extensive defense for someone who has yet to atone, doesn't make any sense for you to say.
I don't think comparing the A/B/O trope to actual criminal acts the author has described in the story is equivalent. That's how the A/B/O dynamic is commonly written in manga and authors don't consider it to be "criminal" (when it obviously would be). That being said, the author clearly wrote what Chowon did as criminal, kidnapping took place, people were hired in order to physically torture, that cannot be downplayed by commenting on the A/B/O trope.
I could say you have the same hypocorism for assuming my age. Calling a criminal in the way you have phrased it, speaks many levels of ableism in ways you’re clearly not aware of. And I only called you illiterate because your comments suggest that you think everyone who is siding with Chowon is excusing his criminal acts, which literally NO ONE IS!!!! You’re clearly not reading through people’s comments thoroughly nor fully. Literally 99% of those comments are saying the same thing: that they do not excuse Chowon’s actions, but that they understand Chowon’s character now and can see that there is room for character development. There already has been. The fact that Chowon was remotely kind to Kyungsoo and even fell in love with him despite being a beta, is already a display of character development. Before meeting Kyungsoo, he clearly was blinded by social hierarchy of A/B/O and clearly hated betas. But the fact he’s opened his heart to a beta despite his previous prejudice already shows that sprout of change. It’s very small and definitely not enough, but it’s enough to show that he WILL change, especially more so that we all can clearly see he has mental issues. And a criminal who has mental issues is almost always bound to change. You clearly are brushing that off and excusing the effort to understand and basic emotional intelligence people have in this comment section, which you are clearly lacking
Please re-read my response, I don't think it was read properly.
How do you know with respect to whom I'm responding? I DID read comments where people were excusing his behaviour 100%, yes most people are not but my topic of discussion was with regard to the people who were. You are the one who blindly came here and assumed my comment was targeted towards every person in existence. That is not my problem. I did not discriminate against Chowon in any of my comments (unfortunately, not ableism) and simply stated that anyone excusing his past actions because of his poor mental state was not in the right. You took my comment and twisted it into your own narrative where I have "brushed" his struggle off and my brain's emotional capacity is nonexistent, which by the way, can be quite triggering to someone who has mental health problems. Be careful with your words online, you are so concerned for a fictional character that you fail to realize you are talking to real people. I myself am a disabled person so saying things like "illiterate", "lacking emotional intelligence", "ableist" can be quite upsetting for me. They're not because I'm now old and de-sensitized to that sort of thing but saying it to someone younger would be unwise. It is best to have safe and mature discussions instead.
So, in my first comment to you, in the brackets, it says "when it obviously would be", just scroll up, you'll find it.
It makes 100% sense unless you can't understand what "when it obviously would be" means.
That is my opinion in the matter, in case you still don't understand, YES I do think that it's rape and criminal in nature. HOWEVER, the author didn't have the same intent when writing those scenes as she did the scenes with Chowon. My comment is respecting what SHE wanted to portray, not what YOU or I took it as.
"Bad writing" is an interesting thing to say, by the way. It is not my responsibility if you don't understand my comment, I took the time to read yours and give a respectful response. I never attacked you did I?
It's very easy to insult but much more difficult to have a civil conversation.
and usually they make me want to rip my hair out
but this was so ridiculous it made me laugh so hard
