When I read the original Grimm Brothers stories, I've always thought "...wtf."

And one from Hans Christian Andersen, <princess and the pea> my initial thoughts after reading it the first time as an adult is, "What an ungrateful child, who complained about a bed when you're a guest at someone else's home?"
