Skyler misunderstood much of Yeonduk's behavior during most of his childhood and believed that his friend was a liar who was only using him...
Knowing his story later and what he had to endure from that crazy mother, no wonder he behaved that way ... But he regained his true memories and realized that he had been wrong and sincerely wants to redeem himself with Yeonduk. Besides, he finally understood his true feelings toward Yeonduk, so I'm rooting for him.
I'm rooting for him, too, but I'm enjoying his suffering. He put Yeonduk through hell and he needs to go through a bit of emotional love hell before the happy ending. Personally, I wish a big rock would fall on Skyler's father and crush him and then a car would run over his mother and, yay, Leo can go live with Yeonduk's family and Yeon and Sky can be happy without those two abusive shitheads.
